When a family or individual in our community needs emergency food assistance, there's an Ottawa Food Bank Member Agency around the corner. Whether it's groceries for the family, a children's breakfast before school or a hot meal at a shelter, our beneficiaries will receive help to get back on their feet. - The Ottawa Food Bank provides 37,524 people each month with emergency food assistance, 36 per cent of whom are children. - The Ottawa Food Bank supports more than 114 food programs throughout the National Capital Region. - 12-15 tons of food leaves our Michael Street warehouse each and every working day. - $1 donated to the Ottawa Food Bank generates $5 worth of food into the community.

EY volunteers at the Ottawa Food Bank on Connect Day! This morning, we left our desks and volunteered at the Ottawa Food Bank. At the Food Bank warehouse, we helped with quality control and sorting of incoming food donations. We also learned at the incredible impact that the Food Bank has on the community, and the rising demand. 2024 has seen more visits than ever before, with now 1 in 4 families using the Food Bank's services. In fact, demand has grown so much since 2019 that the supply just can't keep up. In Ottawa alone, the Food Bank buys $9M worth of food, up from $1.9M in 2019. Thanks to Ottawa Food Bank for hosting us, giving us a tour and the opportunity to help out. Thanks to the inimitable Colleen Brown and all of our great volunteers - Liam F. 🍎 The results for this year’s Firms Filling Fridges fundraiser for the Ottawa Food Bank are in! The fundraiser, which ran for all of October, raised an outstanding $60,050.01! Thank you to everyone who supported this year’s campaign, and helped us clear our goal of $50K by a healthy margin! For the Golden Can Challenge, in which firms from across the city competed for the highest donation total, we had a thrilling four weeks! In the end, we have the following division winners: 🏆Large Firm: Gowling WLG 🏆Medium Firm: Rasmussen Starr Ruddy LLP 🏆Small Firm: Robert Lewis Law The CCLA has been holding the Firms Filling Fridges fundraiser as an online campaign since 2021. With this year’s total, we now stand at over $320,000.00 raised for the Ottawa Food Bank in the last 4 years! Bravo to the Ottawa legal community!
