Empower Black creatives with the skills and resources necessary to succeed within the film & entertainment industry
About us
OYA Black Arts Coalition is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting Black artists, creators and entrepreneurs within the entertainment sector. Over the last three years we piloted the OYA Emerging Filmmakers Program, which gave young Black creatives the experience and confidence they needed to succeed. With over 60 alumni, today, we are ready to expand our reach, by establishing a much needed, not-for-profit organization that is ready to lead on an industry-wide shift. OBAC is going to transform the film and entertainment sector, by ensuring that Black creatives thrive from behind the camera and beyond. We will do this through networking, mentorship and hands-on training, alongside providing safe space for experimentation. We know that film, television and digital media are booming sectors with goals of becoming a 5 billion industry in the near future, and now is a great moment to amplify the creative power of our Black communities.

Happy Birthday Olly! Olly is a year 5 alumni from the OYA Emerging Filmmakers program and recently joined our team recently as the Program Coordinator for the same program. Who better to run the program than someone that has experienced it first hand? He's bringing his expertise over to OYA and we're are so happy to have him on our team.
