#TBT to Todd, our current Director of Systems Infrastructure, who has been in the IT industry for over 25 years. Started out as a bright junior internet Helpdesk analyst while putting himself through school, Todd quickly built up his portfolio and even supported leading a team that grew the VMware environment to well over 600 physical hosts operating almost 7000 VMs across 6 enterprise data centers across Canada. Todd transitioned to the world of physical security when he joined the previously known CONTAVA, now a part of Paladin Technologies and worked his way up quickly from a Senior Systems Analyst to an Enterprise Systems Manager. Choosing to work with Vunetrix Network Monitor, Todd eventually found his way back to Paladin Technologies seven years later. Over the past couple decades, the biggest change that Todd has noticed is the increase of acceptance on high-level IT design and systems, from seeing the struggle to transition from analog to mostly everyone relying on high end servers and networks to deliver video and access data across complex networks. As the Director of Systems Infrastructure, Todd is focused on developing the Corporate team to think using IT Enterprise design, implementing strategies and support. Todd's goal is to lead Paladin Technologies to have the gold standard that every other integration firm tries to imitate! A little over two months ago, our organization experienced a loss that we will continue to mourn for years to come. While we acknowledge this news has been felt throughout the industry, it has taken a bit of time for us to support one another internally before feeling ready to share publicly. Jerry Klapak, Vice-President, Sales & Business Development Central Region, sadly passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 8, 2024. He was only 52 years old and would have celebrated his 53rd birthday this past weekend. Remembered as a true gentleman, the way he lived his life, and impacted others was profound. Jerry ran with open arms to life; he was the funniest person in any room, though usually at his own expense. He proudly served in the United States Navy at Pearl Harbor, where he earned the National Defense Service Award, Good Conduct Medal, .45 Expert Certificate and grew the technical and leadership skills he would build a successful career on. Based in our Minnesota office, Jerry was a positive force for all of those around him and we would not be the organization we are today without his impacts. We were so lucky to have Jerry within our Paladin family. Jerry’s loyalty to our team dates back more than 18 years and he will be deeply missed. He loved being of service to those around him and brought out the best in everyone. His approach to business was felt by anyone who spoke to him – authentic, generous, supportive – with a side of good humor. He was a true industry legend, and our organization will never quite be the same without him. We continue to navigate this loss while moving forward as a team to serve our clients, partners, and peers, doing our very best to make Jerry proud.
