Great panel on some practical applications of AI in Pharma. Thanks to Jessica Knox from Metrix for moderating the panel and sharing.
🌟 Highlights from yesterday’s panel 'Three Practical Ways That You Can Use AI Today' at Pharma Marketing Canada's Future of Pharmaceutical Marketing conference. I had the pleasure of moderating the all-star panel that included: Leandra Wells, PhD, MBA, Country General Manager, Canada at Galderma Shaima Abid, Director of Omnichannel Delivery – UK, Canada & Nordics at AstraZeneca Erik Prieditis, P.Eng, MBA, P.Eng, MBA Head of Commercial Operations at Galderma; Joanna Yu, Digital Health Lead at Takeda Canada Inc. 👉 It’s important to recognize that HCPs and patients are actively using AI today. Joanna shared how St. Michael's Hospital is using AI to predict patient deterioration, reducing mortality by 26% (incredible). Leandra shared how her GP uses AI for dictation (with patient consent), saving 1 day of time per week on admin. 👉 Leandra talked about using AI via ODAIA for dynamic HCP targeting, which significantly improved rep efficiency, and predicted customer behevior behavior. 👉 For these efforts, change management was key, a strong cross-functional team to review the technology before bringing it on board, and strong change management - change champions, leadership support, and regular assessment of how things are going and adjustments for impact. 👉 Leandra signed up for the Co-pilot pilot (as the GM - leadership support) and is thrilled to be able to create materials at a fraction of the time. 👉 Shaima talked about how AI has enabled omnichannel efforts by combining a range of data sources with real-time analysis to inform HCP engagement. 👉 She talked about how good data quality is the foundation for this, to invest in infrastructure, work with experts externally as needed, and loop in compliance to take privacy and security risks into consideration. She also mentioned many standard platforms are already incorporating AI so it would be easier to start with those. 👉 Erik talked about how his analytics team was able to integrate a range of data that used to be disparate, including things like unstructured marketing data. They used this as inputs to a GPT agent that they created to help sales, marketing and analytics people come together to interpret and draw insights from data. They were amazed at the quality of what they got out of it. 👉 And Joanna supported a tool for Canada's top youth mental health crisis line, that helped responders in diagnose and directing individuals to appropriate resources swiftly. This helped them tremendously during high-demand periods like the COVID-19 crisis and improved. Joanna also talked about how AI is being used to create digital companions for patient support, with a strong element of co-creation to make sure these are actually useful for patients. So much more was discussed at the panel but I think I'm hitting the LI limit! Can't wait for the rest of today's programming. #AI #marketing #sales #pharma #lifesciences
