    Big Kudos to British Columbia for marching towards pay equality and transparency with the new Pay Transparency Act! As someone working in the recruitment sector, I can't stress enough the ripple effect this act could create in fostering a culture of openness and fairness in the workplace Here’s a snapshot of what's changing: 🔹 Transparent Salaries: Employers must now disclose salary ranges on job postings, shedding light on what candidates can expect right from the get-go 🔹No More Salary History: The curtain falls on the old practice of inquiring about a candidate's past earnings—a move that could help break the cycle of wage disparity 🔹Open Pay Discussions: Employees now have the freedom to discuss salaries without fear of retribution, promoting a culture of openness. 🔹Annual Pay Reports: Come November 1st, larger employers will need to pull back the curtain on their pay scales through annual reports, spotlighting any existing pay gaps. I'm happy to see the move BC is making towards a more equitable work environment. It's a wake-up call for regions nationwide to follow suit.
