The amount raised for each kilometer collected will be donated to the NGO Care International, just as we did last year when we raised 25.000€. 🎉 We would like to call on every Rhenus colleague to join us next week. A heavy transport with a heavy impact 🙌 Big projects require big transports and moving large items takes a great deal of care and precision. Just like our recent transport project of cable drums for the construction of the SOL cable route – several 85-tonne drums were transported by our experts from the manufacturer Prysmian Group in Gron, near Paris, to their destination in Regensburg in southern Germany. ⚓ Throughout the process, our experts took care of every single step of the transport chain: ✅ Transportation of the cable drums from Gron to the Port of Radicatel, near Le Havre, by barge ✅ Loading them onto a coastal vessel with mobile cranes ✅ Shipping them across the English Channel to the Port of Rotterdam ✅ Transshipment onto barges at the Maasvlakte deep sea terminal – Rotterdam ✅ Final transport across the Rhine to the destination – Regensburg Once the power cables have arrived in Bavaria, the next step is to install the 780, resp. 540 km long power line that will transport sustainably generated electricity from the Baltic Sea wind farms via Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia to Bavaria. 🔌 Kudos to everyone involved in this fantastic transport, enabling an equally fantastic project that builds bridges and promotes sustainable change in Germany. 🏆 #Rhenus #logistics #TogetherWithPassion
