Join us for the complimentary webinar, “Assessing Wetlands and Protection Challenges in BC,” as our Environmental Science (ENS) experts discuss wetland stewardship on September 19th. Our Senior Project Biologist, Carolyn Prentice, and Operations Manager, Brennan Anstey, will provide an overview of what a wetland is, why it is valuable, what the common assessment techniques are, how they are regulated, and why they are often overlooked and missed. Wetlands are almost everywhere and come in different forms. They are often viewed as interfering with preferred land uses and are filled to put the land to "better" use. Defining wetlands and identifying if they are present relies on scientific and regulatory approaches. We will describe wetland indicators that are used to make that determination and relate this to wetland functions and the value they have in the watershed for preserving healthy ecosystems. Land development planning stretches retaining wetlands because of pressure for increased housing, infrastructure, and growth management. Wetland stewardship has various challenges, and we will discuss what this means for competing interests and prioritizing land management options. Join us for the “Water & Wildlife Permitting for Development and Infrastructure” webinar on September 11th, where our Environmental Science (ENS) experts will discuss how to streamline permitting processes for projects. This webinar will introduce developers, civil engineers, planners, architects, and other members of the development community to our environmental science service line and outline some effective and efficient strategies that can help improve the success of projects. The session is presented by our Operations Manager Brennan Anstey and Senior Project Biologist Carolyn Prentice. This webinar is designed to provide an overview of surface environmental regulations. This includes streams and wetlands as well as wildlife and species at risk in the land development context. These regulations apply anytime there are changes to the surface of the land. Understanding how these regulations apply to a land development or infrastructure project are often critical to a successful development outcome. Focusing on the health and safety of your employees is paramount when operating an industrial facility. Persistent odours caused by various manufacturing processes can be a nuisance and may present health concerns due to prolonged exposures. Pinchin can identify the cause, conduct baseline testing to identify chemical exposure and provide engineering ventilation solutions to fix these issues. Property managers can also encounter these challenges in multi-tenant facilities. Odours from one unit may impact neighbouring tenants or even prevent tenants from moving into vacant units. Whatever the circumstance, our ventilation experts are here to provide you with the turnkey solutions you require. For more information, please reach out to Michael Szudy from our Emissions Reduction & Compliance (ERC) team! #VentilationDesign #Odour #Engineeringsolutions #Environmentalcompliance #Pinchin #WorkingTogetherMakingThingsBetter

Developing a residential, commercial, or industrial property? If so, you should have Pinchin complete a noise impact study to determine the environmental impact of that development on the neighboring community. Our acoustic team can determine the impact of the development’s equipment and operations on surrounding noise sensitive receptors to support site plan and zoning amendment applications. It is important to assess equipment and operation’s impact on residences, schools, hospitals, and places of worship. Residential developments require an additional assessment of both neighboring stationary and transportation (road, rail, air) sources on the development itself. A detailed noise impact study will establish the limitations for site design and noise control measures that may be required. Acoustic barriers, ventilation requirements and building component upgrades can mitigate noise impacts on your neighbors and help you avoid delays. For more information, please reach out to Michael Szudy from our Emissions Reduction & Compliance (ERC) team! #NoiseImpactReports #Siteplans #ZoningAmendments #AcousticServices #Environmentalcompliance #Pinchin #WorkingTogetherMakingThingsBetter
