At PlanET, we think that organic waste left untapped is pretty "SCARY." That’s why we have a great “TRICK” up our sleeve. We can turn organic waste into clean, renewable energy using anaerobic digestion — and that results in a sustainable “TREAT” for the earth! If you want to learn more, leave us a comment below. In the spirit of today, we wish you a safe and happy Halloween! 🎃 ***The intent of this post is for Halloween purposes only and does not necessarily reflect the creative genius of the company as a whole*** #Halloween2024 #RenewableEnergy #AnaerobicDigestion

Great day with our very own Mike Muffels and Jelena Gligorovic attending the event. PlanET is excited to be part of the team as the technology provider for this facility!
On Friday, W2RO CEO Ashley De Souza attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Convertus Group and York Region (The Regional Municipality of York) Biofuel Facility. This advanced Biofuel facility will have the ability to process up to 169,000 tonnes of green bin material per year, diverting up to 160,000+ metric tonnes of organics from landfill each year. By utilizing anaerobic digestion technology, the Biofuel facility will significantly reduce the CO2 emissions of processing organic green waste by 12,000 tonnes per year. Additionally, the new Biofuel facility’s strategic location will significantly reduce annual transport mileage for the region and associated GHG emissions by 15,000 tonnes per year. Congratulations to Convertus and York Region for this impressive facility and your commitment to a circular economy!

Canada continues to seek sustainable solutions to combat climate change and renewable energy sources are top of mind. One of these energy sources is renewable natural gas (RNG). It’s gaining significant attention for its potential. RNG is an upgraded form of biogas! It’s interchangeable with conventional natural gas and can use existing infrastructure like the natural gas grid, appliances and equipment. It’s produced from the waste we generate every day, including agricultural waste, food waste, sewage sludge and landfill waste. The exciting news is RNG isn’t just a concept, it’s a proven technology already making a difference in our communities. As of today, Canada boasts: ✔ 33 facilities actively producing RNG, ✔ Over 40 additional facilities in development, and ✔ Nearly 300 operational biogas projects that also contribute to electricity generation and onsite energy use. Canada not only has the technology but also the infrastructure and workforce in place to significantly scale up RNG production. The ongoing success of these projects emphasizes the potential for RNG to play a critical role in Canada’s clean energy landscape. Stay tuned as we share more about RNG and uncover the many ways it’s already contributing to a more sustainable, resilient future for Canadians.

When you know better, you do better. Thanks for raising awareness on the Hill American Biogas Council ! #biogas #americanbiogascouncil #anaerobicdigestion #rng
We were on Capitol Hill this morning providing a Congressional briefing on biogas systems and how they can deliver enormous economic and clean energy opportunities. Biogas project development is a win for people in rural communities and big cities alike. These systems capture methane emissions and make #renewable energy from organic waste wherever it can be found--at farms, landfills, wastewater reclamation and recovery plants, and food processing facilities--and bring clean energy jobs. Our panel of experts was led by our Policy VP Heather Dziedzic and included Andrew Cassilly of Bioenergy Devco, Kevin W. Bradley, ASQ-CQE of NLC Energy, Daniel Gage of The Transport Project, Michael Jensen of WM, and Brian Vanderbloemen of Bloom Energy. Thanks for sharing information about your successful projects and the #BenefitsofBiogas! #biogas #AnaerobicDigesters #methanecapture

The team has returned from the Value of Biogas West and they had a lot of great things to say about the event. They particularly enjoyed the Dickland Biogas tour, hearing from industry experts, and reconnecting with everyone there. A big thank-you to those that stopped by the booth to say hello and chat. Nils, David and Ben enjoyed every minute! #ValueofBiogasWest #AnaerobicDigestion #RNG #PlanETBiogas

Thank you to Dicklands Biogas for two insightful tours! Value of Biogas West attendees were able to get a behind-the-scenes look at this facility and learn more about the valuable digestate and clean water which are produced along with the RNG. Thank you to George Dick for hosting the tours and sharing his experiences with our members!
