Today we hear from our People Success team about their experiences in the industry. The first WIC Week was held in 1998 and it has expanded each year since. We continue to see more females enter the trades, but we need to continue spreading the word. #wicweek #womeninconstruction #demolition #trades #priestlydemolition

Summer 2024—The La Salle project started with a quick mobilization to the site, and an engineered plan for the complex removal of the bascule bridge. We brought in our partners entuitive and Western Mechanical to help us plan the removal of the bridge. A solution for traffic flow was also needed quickly. Acrow, designed a single-span modular structure bridge 48.8 meters long with a two-lane width of 7.3 meters and a cantilevered foot walk, 1.5 meters wide, separating pedestrians from vehicular traffic. Components for the structure began arriving in mid-August, and the bridge was assembled on rollers while the existing abutments were modified to suit the structure. In September PDI successfully launched the bridge and then removed it again in the late fall for marine traffic. PDI will continue to assist Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC)in 2025. They are proposing to temporarily open the channel by removing the bridge every 2 weeks, then increase the frequency to once a week during the busy summer months, and return to once every 2 weeks until mid-November. #partnersinprogress #demolition #modularbridge #acrow #entuitive #priestlydemolition
