Meet Sanika Mulye, a recent Compliance Intern with Questrade Financial Group! Sanika just completed her third year at Wilfrid Laurier University, where she is pursuing a degree in Economics and Finance. Sanika chose Questrade Financial Group because of its innovative environment, reputation as a trendsetter in the financial services industry, and startup culture that fosters rapid growth and creativity. So far, Sanika is thoroughly enjoying her internship and is particularly excited about the new concepts and technical skills she is learning in the Compliance industry. She shares some valuable insights and tips for any future intern looking to join our team, “My tip for future interns is to always stay open and coachable. While many can master technical skills, being receptive to feedback and willing to learn from others is what truly sets you apart. Meet Adel Majumder, our Senior Manager of Learning, Development & Change. In his current role, Adel empowers individuals to reach their full potential and equips leaders to inspire their teams. We asked Adel to share a few words about his experience, take a look! "I have been with Questrade for the past 11 years and being able to see the growth of this company has been amazing (but not surprising!) I started my career in our contact centre, as a Customer Service Agent. Since then I have experienced a lot of growth thanks to the organization giving me numerous opportunities to grow my career. Working at QFG has been amazing because the company's values really match up with my own, making my work feel meaningful and fulfilling. I've also been lucky to have incredible mentors here who are always ready to share their wisdom and help me grow. Plus, QFG has invested a lot in my professional development, offering me tons of opportunities to learn and advance in my career.“ A few fun facts about Adel are that he loves travelling the world with his family, his two energetic boys keep him busy, and he's a proud veteran of the Canadian Forces Thank you, Adel, for sharing! 

Meet Gabrielle, our Compliance Officer at Community Trust, a subsidiary of Questrade Financial Group! Gabrielle has found her role to be a phenomenal experience, as it perfectly marries her passions for law and project management. At Community Trust, she has had the opportunity to be involved in various projects, but she is especially excited about assisting in the development of Market Conduct Obligation (MCO) training. We asked Gabrielle to share a few words about her experience, check it out! "Questrade Financial Group has been an incredible place for my professional development. The environment here has provided me with countless opportunities to grow and learn from amazing colleagues, and the support from my manager has been invaluable. I’m truly grateful for the experiences I’ve had in my short time here and look forward to continuing to showcase how wonderful the company is as an engaged Culture Champ ambassador.“ Outside of work, Gabrielle is a passionate fencer and a dedicated Mandarin student. She pursued her childhood dream of fencing a year and a half ago and has since discovered an amazing community of fellow enthusiasts. Around the same time, she began studying Mandarin, which has been challenging and rewarding. Balancing these passions has enriched her life in unexpected ways and continues to inspire her every day. The Bank of Canada just announced it is cutting the policy rate by 0.25% to 4.50% 📣 Here’s what policy rate decisions can mean for the economy and Canadians like you. When the Bank of Canada lowers its policy interest rate, other interest rates across the economy may decrease too, leading to less interest on loans and mortgages, and less interest earned on savings. With lower rates, spending tends to increase, boosting the economy. While we can’t predict policy rate decisions, there are still ways to prepare yourself for changing rates, like monitoring the housing market, reevaluating your budget if necessary, and researching your options to find the right mortgage provider for you. Join us as we spotlight Osaru Osagie, a Software Engineering Intern at Questrade Financial Group (QFG). Osaru is a second-year student at the University of Waterloo, pursuing a degree in Software Engineering. She chose QFG for its commitment to innovation and its mission to empower Canadians financially. We were thrilled to learn more about her and her experience thus far. She shares, "My experience at QFG has been inspiring, I am very grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow in such a dynamic environment. This internship has been a crucial step in my career development! I am looking forward to learning more lessons!" In her free time, Osaru enjoys playing volleyball, hiking, and writing poetry – she was the National poetry Team Champion in Canada! She also experiments with Leetcoding to stay in the job market, and improve her analytical thinking and interview skills.
