Quinte Health provides a wide range of high quality health care services to 160,000 people living in the 7000 square kilometre region of Prince Edward and Hastings Counties and the southeast portion of Northumberland County. Care is provided through four hospitals - Belleville General Hospital, North Hastings Hospital, Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital and Trenton Memorial Hospital - and includes four emergency departments, operating rooms at three sites, a rehabilitation day hospital, children's treatment centre, ambulatory care clinics, community mental health programs and a range of diagnostic services. There are inpatient beds for acute medical patients, intensive care, obstetrics, paediatrics, mental health, complex continuing care, rehabilitation and surgery. Our 1700 staff members, along with 364 professional staff with privileges including doctors, nurse practitioners and mid-wives, provide primary and secondary patient care. Through partnership and innovation, the teams at the four hospitals of Quinte Health provide exceptional health care services to the residents of the area, close to home. Our vision over the next five years is to foster healthier, more connected people and communities. We will achieve this by working even more closely between our teams, hospitals and partners to provide care as close to home as possible and to help build a stronger health care system for the future. The pandemic has reinforced the value of teamwork and collaboration, and that we are indeed stronger together. Many of the challenges facing hospitals today can only be solved in true partnership. Our Values: Imagine it's you, Value everyone, Stronger Together, and We all make a difference.

“I am sending this note on behalf of my dad, Robert Danahy, who has been in Belleville General Hospital for 3 months. As everyone knows, being in the hospital away from the comforts of home isn’t easy, so I wanted to acknowledge those who make life a bit better. While you won’t likely find people raving about the food in hospital, Carla Luffman from the Diet Office has been outstanding about making it the best she can for my dad. I have been with my dad almost every day since he was admitted. In the beginning, she explained the process of calling the dietary office to select from the menu options for the day. That has evolved into her calling my cell (as my dad does not pick up the phone in his room) and even anticipating what he will choose to eat. Always oatmeal for breakfast and vanilla ice cream for dessert :). Carla is professional and pleasant, always a pleasure to deal with. Meals are the highlight of the day when stuck in hospital, and she makes it seamless and ensures my dad receives what he enjoys. Even on her days off, she has made such comprehensive notes on his file that he gets the breakfast he likes and has removed all the condiments he doesn’t need to minimize waste. Carla may be in the background of this busy hospital, but she certainly has an impact and we just wanted to say we notice and appreciate all that you do.” –Sue Danahy #Compassion #ValueEveryone

“I wish to express my most sincere thanks to Drs. Amedeo Falsetto, Green, LeBlanc, and your esteemed nurses, support staff, caretakers and other staff members, as well as the hospitals in Belleville and Picton, in respect of the intake, assessment, and emergency surgery on my right elbow. I first attended the hospital in Picton, with what appeared to be, in my view, a very minor injury to my right elbow and hand. I could not believe the level of service I experienced when, upon registration, within a period of less than 20 minutes, I was admitted into the emergency ward. It was thereafter I was immediately received by your extremely kind and generous support staff and professionals and nurses at the hospital in Picton, and that I was able to see the very kind Dr. Leblanc, who immediately attended to my injury and gave further advice and instructions. Within just a period of two hours, we were then connected with the expertise of Dr. Falsetto at Belleville General Hospital. I cannot believe the level of professionalism and ethics shown towards someone in my situation in such a short period of time. Thank you so much for your kindness, professionalism, ethics, and dedication to my case, but most importantly, the public good. Given what I experienced, I have nothing but the utmost respect for your profession and all of you. Thank you so very kindly from the bottom of my heart. Upon arrival at Belleville General Hospital, I also cannot believe that I was personally greeted by Dr. Falsetto and given not just a frank diagnosis but also guidance on what would transpire thereafter, together with personalized care and advice. Frankly, it was an experience unlike any other I have experienced in a healthcare setting, and I must commend and praise and give my honour and respect to all your staff members and professionals who helped guide me through what was a very stressful situation. Upon initial triage entry, as we waited, no doubt, it may have been clear that I was in fear and nervous about what would come next. However, I must commend the personability, friendliness, and professionalism of Dr. Falsetto and his team and your staff and all others in advising me informally and formally on what lay ahead. Despite my confusion and anxiety about what was necessary with the operation, I nevertheless felt a level of care, professionalism and ethics that stood out to me to this very moment. I very much thank you, Dr. Falsetto, Dr. Green, Dr. Leblanc, your X-ray staff, your nurses, your professionals, your staff and all others who helped put me at ease as I went through what was an unexpected procedure. I must commend your dedication to your practice and appreciate and respect your dedication to the public interest in this most important work that you do.” -Dr. Michael Motala, Barrister and Solicitor #Care #ImagineItsYou
