Does the victim mentality interfere with your success, or with the success of someone you know? Read on to find the antidote!

Saboteurs are the internal voices that undermine your confidence, creativity, and sense of control. Among these voices is the Victim Saboteur, which triggers feelings of helplessness, self-pity, and blame. With a tendency toward martyrdom, the Victim Saboteur intensely focuses on internal feelings, especially painful ones. This mindset can provoke emotional reactions or temperamental behavior as a way to seek attention and affection. The Victim Saboteur tends to react to criticism or feeling misunderstood by withdrawing, pouting, or sulking. In challenging situations, the Victim tends to give up. This repressed frustration and anger can manifest as depression, apathy, and persistent fatigue. Do you feel the Victim Saboteur's influence in your work and personal life? Read our blog post to learn more about the Victim Saboteur and how you can minimize its impact on your happiness and performance: https://hubs.li/Q02V0r-P0 #Saboteurs #Victim #GrowthMindset #MentalFitness #PositiveIntelligence

    Great job search/interview strategies!

View profile for Amy Gibson, graphic

CEO at C-Serv | On a mission to empower tech careers through empathy, inclusivity, and opportunity.

I've interviewed 100s of job seekers in the last 4 years. What truly sets a successful candidate apart? It's not experience. It's interview preparation. 🔖 Save my ultimate cheat sheet to crush your next interview. And here are 6 more practical tips: 1. Prepare for the "Salary Question"    • When asked about salary expectations, flip it around:  "I'm excited about the role and would love to hear  the range you've budgeted for this position." • If pressed, give a researched range:  "Based on market research, roles like this typically  range from $X to $Y. Is that within your budget?" 2. Tackle the "Why Should We Hire You?" Question    • Use the PAR formula: Problem, Action, Result    • "Your job description mentions [specific challenge].  In my previous role, I [action you took] which resulted  in [quantifiable outcome]. I'm excited to bring that  same problem-solving approach to your team." 3. Handle "Tell Me About a Time You Failed"    • Choose a real failure, but focus on the growth    • "In my last role, I missed a critical deadline because  I underestimated the project scope. Here's what I learned  and how I've prevented it from happening again..." 4. Prep Powerful Questions to Ask the Interviewer:    • "What would success look like in this role  in 6 months?"    • "How does this position contribute to the company's  long-term goals?"    • "Can you tell me about a challenge the team is  facing and how this role might help address it?" 5. Avoid the "Where Do You Want to Be in 5 Years" Trap    • Align your answer with company growth:  "I'm excited about [company's future plans].  In 5 years, I hope to have contributed significantly  to those goals by [specific relevant examples]." 6. Win the "Tell Me About a Conflict" Question    • Use SEAL: Situation, Effect, Action, Learning    • Focus on resolution and positive outcomes 💡 Also remember to: • End strong: "Is there anything about my background  or qualifications you need clarification on?"    • Send a thank-you email within 24 hours, referencing  specific discussion points Your preparation: ✅ Shows respect for the interviewer's time ✅ Demonstrates your genuine interest in the role Be confident. Be authentic. Be prepared. Your dream job is within reach. Go get it 💪! ♻️ Find this valuable? Repost for your network. 📌 Follow Amy Gibson for practical leadership tips.

When leaders are consumed by fear, stress, and anxiety, it negatively impacts their decision-making and their team's performance. But as Scott Gibbs explains here, when leaders can stay calm, focused, and clear-headed under pressure, it changes everything. The Positive Intelligence (PQ) Program helps leaders build the mental fitness they need to handle high-pressure situations with confidence and resilience. The result? Supercharging Siemens Leadership: Shirzad Chamine’s Transformative Keynote at Siemens Smart Infrastructure Event We had the privilege of attending the Siemens Smart Infrastructure Leadership event at the SBC, where the remarkable Shirzad Chamine of the Positive Intelligence program, delivered a keynote that left everyone inspired. With an audience of 130 top leaders from Siemens Smart Infrastructure, including Matthias Rebellius as sponsor of the event, Shirzad spoke passionately about how the PQ Operating Model and program enable leaders to become more energizing, inspiring, and effective. What makes PQ especially exciting for an organization as dynamic as Siemens is that it’s an easily scalable solution. By leveraging simple, yet impactful mental fitness practices, the PQ program empowers not just individual leaders, but entire teams and organizations. This creates a ripple effect that doesn’t just improve individual performance but has the potential to shift culture across the company. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect. As Siemens CEO Roland Busch emphasized supercharging Siemens at SBC event, Shirzad provided the very framework to make that vision a reality. I am incredibly proud to be part of this journey, learning from such an inspiring leader as Shirzad Chamine and witnessing firsthand the ripple effect of Positive Intelligence in action. As we continue to expand this energy and mindset throughout Siemens, I’m excited to see how it will further supercharge our leaders and teams to achieve new heights of success, resilience, and innovation. A big thank you to Sonia White for inviting us and making this event possible, and to Matthias Rebellius for hosting and supporting this powerful initiative. Special thanks to Christine Génot, PCC who initiated our Positive Intelligence journey at Siemens and continues to champion this transformation, as well as to Matthias Reuter for standing behind. Together, we are building something truly impactful, and I look forward to seeing the lasting effects of this initiative in the months and years to come! PS: untill today more than 300 leaders from GLP/ALP leadership program have been in the PQ Program, we were delighted to meet some ( I dont even remember to how many we talked 😁) #PositiveIntelligence #Leadership #Siemens #SuperchargedLeadership #MentalFitness #TransformationalLeadership #Inspiration #Innovation #PQ

"It's time to prioritize mental health in the workplace." The theme of this year's World Mental Health Day is a powerful reminder that mental health is not just a personal issue, but a workplace priority. Research shows that organizations that support mental health in the workplace create a more engaged, productive, and resilient workforce: - Employees who rate their wellbeing highly are 43% more likely to be engaged in their work. (Gallup) - Companies with comprehensive wellness programs experience a 27% reduction in absenteeism. (International Journal of Workplace Health Management) - Employees who receive mental health support demonstrate a 23% increase in productivity. (Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine) As a leader, here are a few ways you can prioritize and promote mental health and wellbeing within your organization: - Build mental fitness with your team: Participate in a mental fitness program together to equip yourselves with tools for navigating stress, managing conflict, and improving team relationships. - Offer flexible work options: Providing flexibility in schedules as well as remote work options where applicable can reduce stress and improve balance. - Encourage open conversations: Create a safe environment where your team can openly discuss mental health and be supported without stigma. - Elevate your EQ skills: Equip yourself to understand and respond to the emotional needs of your team to foster a healthier team culture and inspire others to do the same. What if companies tracked their cost-of-turnover stats? The metrics would be astounding for many organizations. Utilizing Positive Intelligence for Teams markedly reduces turnover, while increasing measurable peak performance and wellbeing. It's worth checking out . . .

Turnover is expensive for organizations.  Gallup estimates that replacing leaders and managers costs about 200% of their salary, replacing employees in technical roles costs 80% of their salary, and replacing frontline workers costs 40% of their salary, along with unmeasured losses in morale and knowledge.  When a top performer leaves, it can cause other employees to reevaluate their own roles, worry about job security or even question the company’s future. Voluntary turnover can also eliminate role expertise gained from years of performing well and disrupt workplace friendships that boost engagement. The costs extend beyond monetary losses.  Employees who receive high-quality recognition are less likely to leave their jobs. Longitudinal data from 2022 to 2024 show that well-recognized employees are 45% less likely to leave after two years.  Discover how to provide the type of recognition that improves employee retention: https://lnkd.in/gNg7mCjp
