#RehabScience isn't just about physical recovery—it's about giving people the tools to live and express their full potential. #RRL's Co-Principal Investigator, Martin Ferguson-Pell Ph.D., received this heartfelt letter from an ALS patient, sharing how technology like her computer, Matilda, makes a world of difference! This powerful testimony reminds us why we strive every day to innovate and aim to push past our limitations in rehabilitation. #AssistiveTechnology #QualityOfLife

#NewsFromRRL: We’ve just finished the #Lifebox project. It's been an incredibly humbling experience collaborating with partners who are passionate about innovation and tackling real-world challenges, especially in #Telehealth, where we're working to make healthcare more accessible and effective. A huge shoutout to the dedicated teams at Highway Innovation Inc. and the University of Alberta’s iSMART Institute for their passion and hard work. 💟
🔬 Advancing Telehealth Innovation: Celebrating the Success of the Lifebox Project 🔬 Last Friday, we wrapped up an incredible project—a collaboration between the Rehabilitation Robotics Laboratory and Highway Innovation. This project, funded by Alberta Innovates through ST Innovations , was a successful example of collaboration between academia and industry. Together, we developed the Lifebox which measure various vital signs with a single, portable unit with broad applications in telehealth and future home-based care. Lifebox is available on Android, iOS, desktop with bluetooth and and cable connections. Next up, we'll be working towards securing Investigational Testing Authority (ITA) to begin clinical validation, with the ultimate goal of commercialization and scaling. A special shoutout to the team at Highway Innovation and our collaborators at the University of Alberta’s iSMART Institute for their great support. #Telehealth #UAlberta #RRL #Lifebox
