Since its inception, RHAD Architects has developed into a multi-disciplinary studio that maintains its residential focus while continuing to pursue new projects such as commercial and public art projects. RHAD Architects' aim is to develop innovative design strategies for engaged clients in a collaborative, studio atmosphere. We approach each project with an avidity to understand the unique characteristics of the site; the surrounding landscape, the orientation of the sun, the wind, the topography, the views; and then we overlay the client's goals for what they hope to achieve for their project.
Delighted to share this great drone tour of the Shift House that our team delivered a little while ago. A great marriage of higher energy performance and cutting edge design aesthetic. Thanks to the team at RHAD Architects for this inspired design, and to the whole extended RSI team for their hard work on this one.

I recently profiled RHAD, an architectural firm based in Dartmouth, NS with a mission to think “beyond the build.”
RHAD Architects uses smart, strategic design to integrate and promote sustainable practices that aren’t just environmentally conscious, but also offer thoughtful community support.

RHAD has been featured in Sharp Magazine!
We recently worked through a rebrand with CO+ to articulate our purpose and the impact we make as an Architecture firm. This rebranding has allowed us to better communicate our commitment to designing experiences that extend 'Beyond the Build'. I want to thank Chelsea Clarke at Sharp, who helped articulate that in this Article.
We invite you to delve into the full article, which can be accessed at: https://lnkd.in/gWkRDxeA

After a successful public hearing and council's approval, we are excited to see this great project come to life for the Downtown Dartmouth community.
We appreciate everyone who took the time to attend last night's public hearing for 'The Post' Project at 53 Queen Street. We have been working on this Development Agreement with much input from local community members, HRM Heritage planning staff, and neighbours. Thank you to the council for appreciating the design details that have resulted from this collaborative effort.
Quoting Sam Austin from last night’s meeting: "It has been in the works for some time. It's one of the best ones I think I've seen in seven years on council. [...The development] is one of the most thoughtful design solutions I've seen in a long, long time, where the post office is being left as it is […]It gets to be itself, forever, for future generations.”
