We are excited to share that RISC has been awarded CAD $286,200 for the next three years through the #NSERC_PromoScience Program, in support of our Risk Education and Literacy (REaL) Program. The #REaL program is a pioneering initiative designed to equip Canadian high-school students, with a focus on Black youth, with essential decision-making skills by introducing them to risk literacy. We acknowledge the generous support of the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) and look forward to the positive impact that the REaL program will bring forth! ——— Nous avons le plaisir de vous annoncer que RISC a obtenu une subvention de CAD 286’200$ pour les trois prochaines années, en tant qu’organisme lauréat de #NSERC_PromoScience. And just like that...another #MunichReCup is in the rearview mirror 😥 💫Munich Re's flagship North American Actuarial Case Competition took place earlier this week, where 6 incredible teams from across the US and Canada worked diligently to solution this year's longevity case and presented to our panelists. They battled it out to win the coveted first, second and new this year, third place positions! Drumroll please... 🥁 🏆In 1st place, the University of Manitoba team took home the win! 🥈In 2nd place, the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign team! 🥉 In 3rd place, the University of Waterloo team! 👏We also had excellent presentations from teams The University of Texas at Austin University of Toronto and Purdue University 🏙️ The student teams and academic advisors had an incredible time visiting Toronto, touring our beautiful office and getting to know our friendly teams over a 3-day visit! 🎊Congratulations to all the student teams, our post-secondary partners, Academic Advisors and Faculty!
