  • Rocky View County and the City of Calgary have approved the Prairie Economic Gateway agreement, a landmark partnership set to generate over $7 billion in economic activity and create more than 30,000 jobs over the next decade. This initiative will strengthen the region’s role as an inland port, leveraging the Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) rail network to expand trade, manufacturing, and logistics. By improving supply chain efficiency and reducing reliance on seaports, it will enhance economic resilience and attract new investment. With both councils on board, the next steps focus on infrastructure planning, investment attraction, and land-use alignment to bring this vision to life.  📰: https://lnkd.in/gEJSE5_D _________________________________ #RockyViewCounty #CityofCalgary #PrairieEconomicGateway

While it’s a fun excuse to enjoy a sweet treat, it’s also a great reminder of how Rocky View County fosters a warm and welcoming workplace culture.   Thanks to our fantastic Social Committee, employees were greeted this morning with muffins to enjoy with their coffee—though let’s be honest, those Costco-sized “muffins” are closer to cake! A small gesture, but one that goes a long way in making our team feel valued and connected.   Here’s to the little things that make Rocky View County a great place to work! ______________________________ #WorkplaceCulture #CompanyCulture #RockyViewCounty

  • Ever wonder why your water might look cloudy during Alberta’s coldest winter months? We’re committed to keeping Rocky View County residents and businesses informed about the essential services we provide. That’s why we’re excited to share a new educational video featuring James Burnell, our Utility Operations Technologist, who explains the science behind this common phenomenon.   This video is part of our ongoing efforts to promote transparency and foster community engagement. By addressing everyday questions like this, we aim to make it easier for residents and businesses to understand the steps we take to ensure safe, reliable utilities every season of the year. #RockyViewCounty #MunicipalGovernment #UtilityServices #StrategicGrowth

  • Here at Rocky View County, the holiday spirit is in full swing. Departments are spreading festive cheer by decorating trees and transforming their workspaces into creative displays of holiday magic. It’s not just about the decorations—it’s about fostering a sense of community and shared joy that makes Rocky View County such a fun and welcoming place to work. As we prepare for the season, we’d like to remind our partners, employees, and residents that County offices will be closed from December 25, 2024 - January 1, 2025. Essential services—like snow clearing, waste disposal, fire services, and enforcement—will continue to operate during this time. However, non-essential services, including permit applications, building inspections, and general inquiries, will pause until offices reopen. For urgent matters, our team is available 24/7 at 403-230-1401. From all of us at Rocky View County, we wish you a safe, joyful, and festive holiday season!
