This gorgeous log home, designed and built by Sansin partner Davidson Log & Timber Artisans, is located in Washago, Ontario. The home is constructed of premium eastern white pine logs that were treated with Sansin's Timber-Tec protective wood treatment. The logs were then finished with Sansin's WoodForce in a dark Thunder color to create a weathered look and even out the imperfections on the logs. The exterior trim is accented with SDF in the color Sage Green. The Timber-Tec chinking pops in a lighter Limestone shade. Inside, Sansin Purity Glacier in a soothing Pretzel color protects the timbers and millwork. This beautiful lakeside home is nestled into a dense sugar maple forest in Algonquin Highlands, Ontario. Designed by Building Arts Architects, the home’s tree-lined perch offers expansive views of the forest, sky, and the waters of Kawagama Lake. Sansin partners Element5 and Timmerman Timberworks Inc. selected KP-12 to protect and beautify the CLT during the construction phase. The dark SDF – Onyx 27 exterior contrasts to the lively colors of the forest. On the inside, the wood is protected by Purity Interior Glacier with a final sheen of Extra Low Lustre. Alle woningen in De Bannehoven zijn energieneutraal en er is rekening gehouden met klimaatverandering. De wijk beschikt over waterbuffers, grasdaken en groenstroken langs de straten om het rioolsysteem te ontlasten tijdens hevige regenval. De Douglas houten geveldelen, die deze woningen een unieke uitstraling geven, zijn door Leegwater Houtbereiding in opdracht van PontMeyer Zaandam zorgvuldig behandeld. De geveldelen zijn eerst geïmpregneerd met het metaalvrije Woodlife HL50 voor extra duurzaamheid, gevolgd door een brandvertragende behandeling met Flame Delay PT. Tot slot zijn de geveldelen afgewerkt met Sansin SDF beitsverf in diverse kleuren. Een voorbeeld is het hout rond de ramen en deuren, dat een andere kleur heeft dan de terugliggende geveldelen, wat zorgt voor een fraaie dieptewerking in het ontwerp. Meer weten over dit project? "Arts and crafts" at summer camp... but make it practical! Recently, I had the privilege of teaching two groups of kids about the process of wood staining as part of their week at Strathroy Caradoc Camps. It was an incredible experience that highlighted the value of hands-on learning and creativity. It allowed us to engage with our community by teaching the application of Sansin stain in a meaningful way, showcasing our expertise and passion for stain to a younger audience. 𝗟𝗶𝗱𝗼 𝗘𝗴𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗱: 𝗩𝗮𝗸𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗽 𝗮𝗮𝗻 𝗱𝗲 𝗡𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘇𝗲𝗲! Op een van de mooiste plekken aan de Hollandse kust staat het in 2020 geheel onder handen genomen appartementencomplex LIDO in Egmond aan Zee. Het is verduurzaamd onder architectuur van architectenbureau Zijlstra Schipper Architecten BNA BV - Duurzame architect uit Noord-Holland uit Wormer. Naast de compleet nieuwe duurzame schil, is het pand ook groter geworden met meer capaciteit. Als specialist in houtbewerking heeft Leegwater bijgedragen aan de houten gevelbekleding die het gebouw een warme en uitnodigende uitstraling geeft. Het gebruik van hoogwaardig hout zorgt ervoor dat Lido Egmond naadloos aansluit bij de natuurlijke omgeving van duinen en zee. De keuze voor duurzaam en robuust houtmateriaal, en de door ons toegepaste behandelingen, garanderen niet alleen een prachtige uitstraling, maar ook een langere levensduur, beter bestand tegen de invloeden van wind, zand en zeewater. Het thermisch gemodificeerde Fraké is door ons brandvertragend behandeld met Flame Delay FX Pro en daarmee afgewerkt met Sansin Enviro Stain Woodsealer. De verbouwing en de uitbreiding is gerealiseerd door Tervoort Egmond. Wood performance at the Head of its Class. The Toronto Montessori School (TMS) is a 10,000 square foot addition to the TMS Upper School campus in Richmond Hill, Ontario. The glulam timbers on the exterior from Sansin partner Timber Systems Limited are shaped like trees, embracing the nature of mass timber building. Exposed glulam ceilings and timber posts carry the beauty of the wood throughout the building. The interior glulam is protected and beautified with two coats of Precision Coat SDF in custom colors. The exterior glulam is made durable with KP-12UVW, Precision Coat SDF and Precision Coat SDF Topcoat. More than 462 glulam pieces were used to create 77 unique curves showcased throughout University of Oregon's Hayward Field, achieving the design objective to showcase Oregon's history, culture, and forest products. Over 1 million linear feet of Douglas Fir lumber was used in all the glulam pieces - equating to 830.5 laps around Hayward Field. In fact, if the boards were laid end-to-end, they would stretch from Hayward Field to Oregon’s largest city of Portland and back again. Volume of wood products used: 1664 m3 (58764 ft3) of lumber & sheathing North American forests grow this much wood in: 5 minutes Carbon stored in the wood: 1496 mt of CO2 Avoided greenhouse gas emissions: 579 mt of CO2 Total potential carbon benefit: 2075 mt of CO2 Which is the approximate equivalent of 233,891 gallons of gasoline saved.
