🚨Another major announcement from the good folks here at SkyWatch 🚨 First off, we live in an increasingly chaotic world. Sometimes that chaos is brought about by natural events and sometimes it is man-made. SkyWatch's existence is predicated on illuminating such events for everyone and allowing people to make sense of the world so that collectively we can make it a better place. As our friends in the United States brace for Hurricane Milton, we stand by ready to support you. As for today's announcement, I am excited to unveil a groundbreaking partnership for the Earth observation domain publicly. For those who operate in and around this market, it's no secret the role that Maxar Technologies has played over its 3 decades, going back to its founding as the WorldView Imaging Corporation in 1992. They've built a brand by reliably serving the market with the highest-quality imagery products. Their imagery powers many of the mapping products we love and use every single day. To be honest, I wasn't sure if there would ever be a world in which Maxar and SkyWatch came together. We've been focused on democratizing access for commercial players globally, and they've focused primarily on government and large enterprises, and rightfully so. But over the last year, we've developed a shared vision for how Maxar's imagery products can power even more applications, use cases and solutions. Maxar's data will be available through the SkyWatch Platform and all SkyWatch applications before the end of the month. This will include their entire archive, spanning more than 20 years, along with a growing volume of tasking capacity onboard the new WorldView Legion constellation. These products will be available globally. How I solved one of the most annoying imagery marketplace (minimum area warnings) issues with a simple buffer. As we were building the market place we discovered one of the most annoying issues was the minimum area warnings. You know what you want but you need to satisfy the minimum area requirements of a particular provider. Enter APMAC (Automatic Polygon Minimum Area Compliance) - patent pending. Take the AOI (Area of Interest), use a buffer to expand it to the minimum area requirement, and use that to create the order and show it to the customer. Fairly simple but removes the need for the user to do any manual adjustments to the AOI. This is especially effective when leveraging SkyWatch because you can get the actual pixels of just the polygon versus full rectangles you are forced to use with other marketplaces. This also can save money over lots of orders because you will never overfit your minimum area requirement and end up ordering more than you need to. This actually opens the door to a lot of other UX improvements we hope to implement in the future as well. #GIS #Mapping

Today is an exciting day! In Partnership with SkyWatch We have brought satellite imagery, and satellite tasking, by the polygon to Scribble Maps with powerful band analysis features including custom band math. We believe we have built one of the easiest and economical marketplaces for securing EO data and we are excited for you to try it. Check out our fun 30-second spot commercial below. 1. Our market place features a new patent-pending feature to order imagery with out any UI minimum area requirement warnings which can be pretty frustrating to deal with. 2. We leverage the full raw bands to do analysis like NDVI, NDWI, etc.. you can also do your own raw band math. 3. All data can also be downloaded for use in things like QGIS or ArcGIS. 4. Index analysis can be paired with our blend modes to create spectacular analysis over Google Maps satellite. 5. We leverage COGS to handle the data serving. (More on this later) 6.
