Navigating leadership can be a challenge for women, who often face unrealistic expectations. This leads to a frustrating double standard—when women are assertive, they may be labeled selfish, yet if they are more reserved, they’re told they lack confidence. It's time to redefine our perceptions of strength and vulnerability in leadership. It’s crucial to highlight this bias and advocate for fair standards that evaluate all leaders based on their competence and character, regardless of gender. Together, we can create a more inclusive future. #Leadership #WomenInLeadership #GenderEquality

In academia, bias runs deep—women and people of colour are often disregarded, even when their work is front and center. It's not just an oversight; it's a reflection of the systemic bias that undermines their expertise. Being told to "familiarize" themselves with their own research isn’t just ironic—it’s proof of how ingrained these attitudes are. We need to call out and break down these biases so that all contributions in STEM are valued, regardless of gender or race. The future of science depends on it. #BreakTheBias #WomenInSTEM #DiversityInAcademia #EquityInSTEM

The Diversity Dashboard is an innovative tool designed to help STEM organizations measure and understand the diversity of their workforce. Aligned with the federal government’s 50-30 Challenge, it encourages companies to achieve gender parity (50%) and significant representation (30%) of underrepresented groups, including racialized individuals, 2SLGBTQI+ communities, newcomers to Canada, people with disabilities, and Indigenous peoples in leadership roles. By leveraging the Diversity Dashboard, STEM companies can foster inclusive environments and advance equity, diversity and inclusion in their fields. The dashboard provides the means to track progress, compare performance against industry standards and identify specific areas for targeted interventions. Take the first step toward building a more inclusive future with the Diversity Dashboard by SCWIST. Together, we can create environments where all individuals can thrive and contribute to transformative innovation. ➡️ Visit the link below to download the dashboard for free. #DiversityDashboard #EDI #InclusionInSTEM #5030Challenge #STEMforAll #EquityForAll
