RPM Increases Provider Burden? Think Again! Research shows that Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) actually reduces acute care use and improves efficiency in healthcare settings. A study published in BMJ Open found that RPM can significantly decrease hospital admissions, length of stay, and emergency department visits for chronic conditions like cardiovascular disease and COPD1. Another review identified key factors for successful RPM implementation, such as targeting high-risk populations and providing timely, responsive care. RPM assists healthcare providers in reducing needless follow-ups, optimising workflows, and prioritising high-risk patients by automating data collection and enabling remote monitoring. This translates to better patient care through more effective use of time and resources.
