Welcome Sereena to Signal Hill Equity Partners! Join us in welcoming Sereena Tucker, our new Senior Associate in our Washington, DC office. Sereena will focus on executing U.S.-based investment opportunities and partnering with portfolio companies. Sereena has over six years of experience working in investment banking and private equity and was also an Associate at GCM Grosvenor, where she focused on evaluating and monitoring private equity co-investments in the middle-market. Sereena has an Economics degree from Yale University and recently completed her MBA from Harvard Business School. Last week’s Elevate AEC conference was an excellent event and we were grateful to make so many connections with the Zweig Group and meeting other AEC industry professionals. Here are some key takeaways that we wanted to share: • Demand for AEC services remains strong. Infrastructure, energy, water/wastewater, and data center sectors are receiving notable attention • Talent retention and shortages remain a challenge. It’s important to develop talent internally with meaningful work, and provide opportunities. It’s also important to recognize the balance between compensation and the values of your team. • There are record backlogs in the sector right now, while this demonstrates sector health, it also highlights the need to continue to ensure you have the capacity to meet demand. • AI is influencing everything, including AEC. I am excited to share that I am about to complete a remarkable three-month internship as a legal trainee at Signal Hill Equity Partners in Toronto. As part of my law studies in Munich, Germany I was granted the opportunity by Signal Hill Equity Partners to gain insight into and broaden my knowledge within the private equity business. This experience has been incredibly enriching and transformative. Working with a dynamic team in such a vibrant city has provided me with invaluable insights into the intersection of law and business on an international scale. Within my internship I was able to assist on legal matters regarding various topics but also be a part of the operational business by looking into deal opportunities, financing strategies and market analysis.
