  • Leadership doesn't have to come with a specific title. Imagine what becomes possible when all team members within an organization demonstrate leadership capabilities. #leadershipdevelopment #coaching #emergingwomenleaders

When 78% of organizations prioritize leadership coaching above all other types, it signals more than just a trend. It represents a fundamental shift in how we view leadership development. 📈 And, even when our 2023 coaching culture survey revealed that leadership is the compass that guides an organization, it also shows that other types of coaching are the force that's making sure it's pointing to its true north. From executives (42%) to performance enhancement (45%) to team dynamics (37%), coaching has become key to organizational excellence. What's your experience? Has coaching transformed the culture in your organization?

  • Our mind doesn’t always serve us well. One of my favourite ways of quieting the negative chatter in my mind is to do mindful eating: I focus all my attention on the physical sense of taste. Feeling the crunch in my toast. Really tasting the flavours. This is what we call in Positive Intelligence a PQ rep: focusing on a physical sense for at least 10 seconds. It could be taste or any of the other senses. This also energizes the part of your brain that DOES serve you. So that you can handle your challenges with ease and flow. #leadershipdevelopment #coaching #emergingwomenleaders

  • The theme of #WorldMentalHealthDay is “mental health at work”. Taking care of your own mental health is a key message from the WHO (World Health Organization). It is the equivalent of putting on the airplane oxygen mask on yourself first before you can assist others. As a leader, it is important to check in with yourself: on a scale of 1-10, how good is YOUR mental health? Not sure? Start by being aware of your mood and feelings. Are you calm and centered OR anxious and stressed out? Then ask: what could make it one point better? #leadershipdevelopment #coaching #emergingwomenleaders

  • Today is World Smile Day - a time to remind ourselves of the importance of spreading happiness, kindness and positivity through simple acts. A smile: such a simple thing and yet can be so powerful. So today, simply... smile! Not only will it help elevate your mood, but for the person it is directed to, it can have a powerful impact. You never know what might be happening in that person's life at that very moment. A simple smile (from a family member, a friend or even a stranger) can change the course of their day. #leadershipdevelopment #coaching #emergingwomenleaders

  • In Positive Intelligence, the Hyper-Vigilant knows a lot about worrying. Stuck in worry mode? Ask yourself where it fits on the "vigilance" grid: a) What is the likelihood that "it" (the thing I'm worrying about) will happen? b) How much control do I have? Then focus on what falls in HIGH likelihood and HIGH control. While it might sound easier said than done to let go of the rest, the mere action of taking a pause to consider where it fits can provide some clarity and bring you to a state of more ease and flow. There are other techniques which you can combine with the above, but it's a good first step. #leadershipdevelopment #coaching #emergingwomenleaders

  • My focus as a leadership coach committed to empowering emerging women leaders to unleash their potential and drive meaningful impact in their organization, is to help build a strong pipeline. While there has been gains across the pipeline from 2015 to 2024 - for example women at the C-Suite level increased 12% - lower levels do not have the same kind of gains. An increased focus here is needed. I'm thrilled about the gains made... but there is still a ways to go. How is YOUR pipeline looking? #leadershipdevelopment #coaching #emergingwomenleaders

In the 10th year of our Women in the Workplace research, in partnership with LeanIn.Org, we celebrate the notable gains women have made—but also highlight how their experiences often remain the same or worse than a decade ago. Over the past ten years, women have shown remarkable ambition and commitment to their careers. Now, it’s time for companies to match that commitment and continue the important work they've begun. A few simple ideas: 1)       Tell someone you noticed their progress 2)       Call a colleague to check in and offer support 3)       Send a digital card to team members for a job well done 4)       Celebrate a win 5)       Last – but certainly not least – be generous with your smiles!
