We help organizations improve, innovate, and grow

About us

We teach, train, and coach organizations how to improve, innovate, and grow faster. We help organizations make good choices supported with the right metrics while balancing the work in and on the organization. The result is sustainable improvement. As Organizational Designers we help our clients create clarity of purpose to identify the areas most in need of improvement. Then, we enable our clients to develop the confidence and capabilities to execute improvements that obtain results that matter. We do this by partnering with our clients to transfer knowledge, build capabilities, and engage people so that future changes will be led by their employees. We don’t just help our clients to solve their problems; we enable them to solve problems on their own. We won’t leave you with a PowerPoint presentation, we leave you with results and a methodology that will continue to deliver those results far into the future.

It’s not enough to be busy. It’s not enough to meet deadlines and execute projects. You have to find a way to get the result. If you’re going to excel, you have to take responsibility for the results. In order to do that, do you understand how the organization succeeds? Do you understand how your role directly links? Have you made the connection between your work and the outcomes of the organization? Those who are invaluable to an organization connect their activities to outputs to business results. And if you need a place to start, we'll help you work through a 12 month operational plan to connect the dots on a complementary strategy call: https://hubs.li/Q02Pp9S00

It is never the quality of the service that gets you in trouble as you grow. Scale requires alignment. Scale requires coordination. Scale requires common language. Scale requires common practices so we can predictably deliver, schedule, and improve. Scale requires supporting services. It is all very frustrating for the entrepreneur who wants to move with pace. It is equally frustrating for the manager who wants to manage risk. It is even more frustrating for the technician who just wants to do the job. More is not more. More is very different. It is basic physics. Are you ready for more? #Strategycoach #Transformyourbusiness

You do not have to do it alone! Too many technician-led businesses are one or two decisions away from a massive step forward in their business and their lives. My grandfather was a roofer who started a roofing company. He needed help to scale and to ensure profitability. Jimmy Lorway owns a Cladding company. He made four major decisions in the last year. He increased his profit by 900%. Yes I know that sounds ridiculous, but it's true and quantifiable. Today he has better work, a more engaged workforce, spends less time worried about payroll, and gets to spend more time focused on growing the business even more! You've spent a lifetime honing your craft. We've spent the same time honing ours. It just so happens that our craft involves making better choices on where to focus and how to get the most out of what you already do well. Some call that strategy and process improvement. But those words have lost their meaning in a sea of "gurus" who much better at marketing, advertising, PR, and branding than we are. We are the workers. The ones who pride ourselves on helping others move the needle forward. We want to help the Pharmacists, the Physios, GCs, Accountants, sub trades, RMTs...All of you who decided to get in the arena and grow a business and could use a partner on the journey! Happy Friday - What is the ONE AREA of your business, that if it was working for you (instead of because you), would remove all the stress in the world?

One of our most recent strategy sessions ended with "This is magic. For the first time, I feel like I can see what I need to see to make the right decisions." We do this with anyone before they commit to our 12 month training program. We walk them through their operational proforma, a customer analysis, and a pricing and positioning exercise. We'd love to unleash the magic with you. Working harder in a business that isn't producing the return for you today is a fool's errand. What problem do you solve? For who? What's the value of solving that problem for them? What does my 12 month ideal financial and operational model look like? What am I doing really well that I could amplify? Where are my biggest challenges? What are the top three? Let's connect that energy of a fresh start to the right improvements. Action without Strategy is a Disaster.

Saying no to a bad idea is easy. Saying no to good opportunities where you know you can add value – That’s infinitely more difficult. Do you know the hidden cost of yes? It is all about what you allow to take up mindshare in your head and minutes in your calendar. Anyone fighting this would be well served to read this piece from Shane Parrish: https://hubs.li/Q02NpM5P0 #hiddencostofyes #prioritizationinbusiness #strategy

Impact does not happen without investment. Revenue does not exist without cost. Cost does not exist in a vaccuum. They may well be separated on a financial statement (or a personal budget) but this is a dangerous and fictitious way of looking at the world. To avoid missing part of the story, start seeing the world through return on investment. This goes for everything in life. We are the sum of our investments. Time, attention, energy, and money. Are you making the right investments? Are you getting the right return?
