TECHNATION was pleased to submit recommendations to the Standing Committee on Finance for the Pre-Budget Consultations in Advance of the Upcoming Federal Budget 2025. As Canada's leading technology association, TECHNATION's recommendation focused on two areas affecting our members the most: 1️⃣ We urge Canada's AI Secretariat to develop a Pan-Canadian AI Industrial Strategy, including developing a cohesive and coordinated approach to Government of Canada AI policies, coupled with investment in AI commercialization and AI Sectoral approach to adoption. 2️⃣ Modernize Public Sector Procurement to increase the accountability and transparency of technology procurement and the equitable access and participation of Canadian innovators in technology procurement, which will drive growth and innovation. We look forward to working with the Government of Canada, our members, and Canada's tech sector to collaborate and co-create new policies to ensure Canada's economic growth and resilience. Great to participate in Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat | Secrétariat du Conseil du Trésor du Canada consultancy with #AI tech leaders across Canada. Canada must accelerate responsible AI adoption, and to do so, government and industry must move beyond collaboration to co-design public policy, governance frameworks, and upskilling strategies to bridge the AI adoption and trust gap.
