On the way to Cleantech Group Forum in Chanttily Tersa Earth attended an event at BpiFrance's Paris HQ was truly insightful and productive. We're grateful for the valuable presentations on: • France's cleantech financial ecosystem • BpiFrance-Canada programs • EuroQuity matchmaking services • Insights from Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) and MaRS Discovery District Tyler Hamilton and Leah Perry. It was inspiring to connect with fellow Canadian innovators and explore cleantech opportunities. The discussions and networking were invaluable. The final day of #FrontierSummit2024 focused on how we can impact the world and build a brighter future together 🌎 Day 3 unfolded at the iconic Vancouver Aquarium in downtown #Vancouver. Event artist Leiti Hsu began with a TED-style talk, “The Art of Instant Connection,” offering insights on reviving events to create meaningful connections. Tiffany Chiu (AbCellera), Tamer Mohamed (Aspect Biosystems), and Thomas Seal (Bloomberg) explored biotech’s future, discussing solutions for well-being in the digital era. Caitlin Krause (MindWise®) followed with an inspiring keynote on how we can be our most creative selves in the Age of AI, touching on embodiment and transformative design. Later, Elizabeth Scallon (HP), Nick Rosa (Accenture), and Jung Lee (Pioneer Square Labs) discussed how embracing failure drives innovation and challenges the status quo. The Estée Lauder Companies Inc.'s Liz Bacelar led a session on using innovation for social good with Emily Hoble (Founders Pledge), and Barinder Rasode (Tersa Earth). In autonomous mobility, Sonia Kandola (Lime) and Jamie Shotton (Wayve) discussed visions for future transport, while Niamh Peren (Foresight Institute) moderated a panel on sustainable innovation with Greg Twinney (General Fusion), Graeme Edge (Energy Disruptors), and Mike McDermid (Ocean Wise), discussing tech-driven climate solutions. Attendees then enjoyed hands-on breakout activities after lunch — crafting ceramics at Bahoo Cermaics Studio, building custom ecosystems at Oasis Studio, and interacting with sea stars and sea jellies at Vancouver Aquarium's Wet Lab. Out on the Pacific with Mitch's Catch, attendees experienced crabbing just off the sunny, Vancouver shores. The summit concluded with tapas, paella, cocktails and music, featuring DJ sets by Redshift Collective’s Andrea Southcott and DJ Yawn, celebrating three days of connections and inspiration. Last week, Natasha Kumari and Elesha Hoffarth, PhD attended the Chile-Canada Mining Innovation Summit (CCMIS) thanks to an invitation from MICA | Mining Innovation Commercialization Accelerator. This summit focused on accelerating the commercialization of MICA-funded innovations to bring Canadian technologies to Chile’s sustainable industry landscape. With Canada as Chile's largest investor, especially in mining, we’re thrilled to play a role in fostering cross-border innovation to drive a low-carbon future. As Chile aims to reach carbon neutrality by 2050, technologies like ours are more crucial than ever for advancing sustainable practices in copper and lithium production to power an electric future. Huge thanks to MICA for this opportunity to connect with visionary industry leaders.
