Yesterday, our team had the privilege of traveling to Sudbury to host our Northern Regional Forum at Laurentian University/Université Laurentienne. Laurentian graciously welcomed us into the Round Room at their Indigenous Sharing and Learning Centre—a unique, collaborative space that set the stage for meaningful discussions on supporting student mental health. During our visit, we also had the chance to tour Laurentian’s Free Store for Students. This inspiring, three-year-long initiative provides essential items, from kitchen appliances to clothing for all ages, at no cost to students in need. The store is a true testament to community spirit, with donations generously contributed by students, staff, and community members. We’re grateful to everyone who joined us and helped make this day impactful. Days like this remind us of the power of community and the importance of accessible support systems for student wellbeing. #NorthernRegionalForum #LaurentianUniversity #MentalHealthSupport #StudentSuccess Mark Walma
