The MTS or Muster Tap Station is designed to be mounted in refuge stations or mustering points allowing for workers to scan their wearable RFID tags to account for their presence in an emergency situation. In 2018 Sibanye-Stillwater Mine decided to establish a system to track and intercept mis-shipments of muck underground (ore being shipped as waste, or waste shipped as ore). After a successful test of the TopVu RFID tracking system on one of their underground rail dumps, they moved to implementation of the system on the surface muck streams.
