We are thrilled to welcome Japanese logistics company Konoike to the Toronto Region! Yesterday, the Konoike team celebrated opening their new plant in Uxbridge, joining the Durham Region's highly developed automotive sector. Our team thoroughly enjoyed working with Konoike to guide them on this major expansion journey. “This is Konoike’s first venture into Canada. From the very first time we met Catherine C., we felt welcomed by her and the GTA region. She became the source of our information gathering and knowledge gaining. This gave us that added confidence in investing in the region. Once we decided to invest in the region, she connected us with the right contacts for us to establish ourselves," said Junjiro Imoto. Despite the familiar gripes about traffic and construction, Toronto remains a vibrant and welcoming city in the eyes of many visitors. In fact, nearly a million tourists visited the city in July alone, attracted by its safety, diversity, and friendliness. Visitors from around the world praised Toronto's mix of cultures, feeling secure even late at night, and admired its towering skyline. While there were some critiques, Toronto's virtues, such as its air quality and cleanliness, still shine through. Despite its limitations, Toronto continues to be a city that captivates and inspires. Toronto is a young city, and we keep on getting younger. From 2017 to 2022, we had the highest growth in residents in their 20s among large cities in North America. We've also seen a 13.1% increase in workers in their 20s and a 16.4% rise in those in their 30s, making this dynamic age group the majority of our workforce. BREAKING: after a rocky start, the Toronto Global Globetrotters made a tremendous late-game comeback and beat the Toronto DestinaTOrs 15-14 in the final inning. ⚾ We had a great time yesterday playing softball with our friends at Destination Toronto. Despite an initial unseasonable chill, both our teams came out to play a nail-biting game and were eventually greeted by sunny skyline views at Little Norway Park. When's the rematch?

You’ve likely heard Toronto described as a city within a park. Well, here’s a visual representation of the city that really drives that point home. Created by the University of Toronto’s School of Cities, this dot map uses City of Toronto data to plot out over 1.2 million trees. While the data isn’t perfect (it’s hard to track backyard trees, etc.), the map does offer a view of Toronto that’s both familiar and strange all at once. It’s easy to pick out the Financial District, of course, but other features like highways, rivers, golf courses and the Downsview lands also stick out. Check out the interactive map to spot other tree-heavy or tree-free landmarks. Let us know what sticks out to you! https://bit.ly/3ApmHsh
