Roper’s Hold – A Whisky Born of Discovery and Craftsmanship At True Wild Distilling every barrel has a story—and with the release of Roper’s Hold Whisky, we’re proud to share a tale of discovery, artistry, and bold transformation. Our “First Release” journey began with our co-founder, Bryce Parsons uncovering a collection of exceptional 8-year-old straight rye whiskies. Blended from three sources, two of these distilleries from the Pacific Northwest have since closed their doors, making this blend a rare tribute to craftsmanship and history. But finding the barrels was just the beginning. Bryce brought them to Canada and began the meticulous process of blending these remarkable ryes, each with its own distinct character. To complete the transformation, the blend was finished in red wine barrels from the renowned Black Hills Estate Winery in the Okanagan Valley, infusing the whisky with layers of rich fruit and velvety tannins.
