Reintroducing ourselves here as we begin our LinkedIn page. Please watch this space and follow us. We are Cynthia & Leslie and we are 62. There we said it. Cynthia's career has been in advertising production. She climbed the corporate ladder within advertising agencies for over 30 years. As she hit 50 she knew she’d reached a peak and didn’t see an obvious way forward – let’s just say she could see the glass ceiling and wasn’t breaking through but knew she wasn’t finished by a long stretch. So, at 55 Cynthia started her first company. Over the next 7 years it grew and is now a successful company and a passionate side hustle started to take shape. Leslie has experienced a diverse range of roles. From working in the corporate world to starting her own not-for-profit venture, hustling as an entrepreneur on the side, and juggling the demands of being a mom and the CEO of her family, her plate has always been full. Her experiences at times felt like a non-stop roller coaster ride, challenging in the best possible way and filled to the brim with creativity (believe it or not!), and the most fabulous people, and for all of this she is beyond grateful. Leslie's learned a lot about herself and her journey continues to unfold but she's not finished yet. ✨We are very excited to introduce Twinagers, a platform focussed on changing society's narrative around aging. ✨Our intention is to share the wisdom and experiences of women and men in their magic hour. You are probably wondering, what is the magic-hour? We define this stage of life as 55+ where we are not young, but not yet old. Society views this stage of life as “elderly or senior” and is often ignored. We want to highlight a new attitude towards those in their magic hour. ✨ There is so much we can do. By sharing inspirational stories of the wisdom and power in aging, we hope to show the value of lived experience and to inspire, connect and encourage all generations towards greater understanding and mutual respect, no matter our age. ✨Let’s celebrate people as they age. ✨Let’s foster more intergenerational conversations. It’s so important. And yet as we enter our 60s, we feel more comfortable putting ourselves out there. We're proud of where we've been and know our stories are valuable for others to hear. That’s the power of experience, of embracing what is ours to share. Do we want to celebrate? Yes! Shout it out? Yes! We are thrilled to be able to contribute to the pro aging conversation and hope that you’ll join us. If you’re interested in learning more or want to contribute your story, let’s connect. We hope you’ll find the content engaging, entertaining and inspirational! Please follow us here, on instagram @twinagers or visit us at twin-agers.com

We are on a mission to change the narrative around aging.
About us
We are identical twin sisters who are passionate about joining the conversation around aging, connecting and amplifying the voices of those who challenge ageism. Our goals are to demonstrate the value of those 55+ through sharing stories of the everyday person; challenging the definition of what is considered old; acting as a bridge between aging issues and the experts; and tackling the last "ism" in diversity portfolio framework. We hope that one day we live in an age friendly society. Let's celebrate aging and the power of wisdom.

We love this campaign. Simple, effective and powerful and we watched this on repeat. Age brings so much-experience, wisdom, guidance, perspective and yes creativity. None of these disappear as we hit midlife and beyond. Thank you for shouting this out! Representation matters.
CMOs. You may not have noticed, but the women in advertising have been fighting on all fronts this week: Zoe Scaman released her bombshell report on the horrific experience of being a mother in advertising. https://lnkd.in/ed25T3sJ The creative women of Australasia are up in arms after Campaign Brief's creative league table was published featuring just one woman. In 2024! https://lnkd.in/eTkmuizZ At Visible Inc we've been fighting gendered ageism. Visible Start screamed about the statistic that came out last week that almost 50% of recruiters think 57 is too old for a job. https://lnkd.in/evNqYnDE And Visible Creators, our team of elite midlife creatives, launched a campaign to highlight the fact that even though women 45+ are the world's biggest consumers, women 45+ are never employed to create ads for them. It's time for CMOs to use your firepower: Demand the mothers in your agency are happy and treated with the respect they deserve. Insist more female creatives are given your best briefs. Ensure your recruiters (and those in your agency) have undergone gendered ageism training (Jacquie Duckworth can give you all the info.) And, if you're targeting midlife women, demand that midlife women lead the damn narrative. What can everyone else do? Tag every CMO you can think of!

Had a great discussion with Mallory about aging- we love what she does and it’s so important to discuss the challenges and opportunities one faces as we age!
Viive Values - Episode #13 - Aging Gracefully Had an amazing conversation with the Twinagers today about what it means to age gracefully! Unfortunately, our culture has a really unhealthy relationship with aging. So refreshing to talk with these incredible ladies who are trying to change that. #AgingGracefully #LegacyPlanning #AgingPlanning #EstatePlanning #AgingAndEndOfLifePlanning

Couldn’t agree more. Excellence can happen at any age.
Executive Leader | Digital and Tech-Enabled Innovation and Growth | Startup Advisor | Not for profit leadership l Experienced Board Director
I saw yet another 30 under 30 recruitment call for the ad industry so I will publish this again: If the advertising industry is serious about stopping ageism, we should stop the 30 under 30, 40 under 40 lists reinforcing culture’s obsession with early achievement and instead perhaps just celebrate excellence. There is no question that people on these lists are brilliant - but is age the catalyst? We all seem to think doing it younger and faster is the key...I am not sure so. The qualities of excellence are found in all ages...and it is more about attitude and aptitude. Age typically brings wisdom, resilience, humility, self-knowledge, and creativity. It matters less when you do something great It matters that you just do it. Please repost this so that the message is heard loud and clear! #ageism #Advertising #advertising

This is a quick read outlining why we are not prepared for retirement at age 65. Our longevity is changing and so must society's view on aging. Let's flip the script on the narrative around aging and look for ways to contribute longer. It's a win-win.
Founder of Booming Encore | Digital Media Hub and Global Social Media Influencer Focused on Longevity | Co-Author of Retirement Heaven or Hell: Which Will You Choose? | Longevity Lifestyle by Design Contributor
Is it time to stop referencing "retirement age"? People are working longer. Some because they want to, some because they have to but when we attach an age to something, judgement often comes along with this should someone not align to these expectations. Plus, to be able to financially support a 20 to 30 year retirement requires savings that many people just won't have causing them to need to work longer. Times are changing so maybe our expectations need to change too. #babyboomers #boomers #retirement #retirementplanning #aging #longevity #retirementage https://lnkd.in/eRaMyQhi
Retiring in your 60s is becoming an impossible goal. Is 75 the new 65?

What is Retirement Anyway? ✨ Retirement – a word often associated with relaxation, golfing, and gardening, or sailing off into the golden sunset. But is that all there is to it? We’ve come to question this outdated concept of retirement which we think paints a narrow picture and overlooks the diverse experiences that can come with this phase of life. ✨ Traditionally, retirement focuses on financial planning, ignoring psychological readiness, emotional health, and personal fulfillment. It's time to expand our understanding. And we think this should be compulsory BEFORE leaving the workforce (if you can, acknowleding that there are many scenarios where this doesn’t happen). ✨ In a world where we're all living longer, hopefully healthier lives, what do we do with our time? This is an important question. Retirement should be about more than just stepping back from work. It's an opportunity for growth, pursuing passions, and realizing long-held dreams. Whether it's traveling, starting a business, or exploring creative endeavors, retirement opens up a world of possibilities. ✨ By embracing the holistic nature of retirement – addressing financial security alongside emotional and social well-being – we can create a more fulfilling experience. ✨ So, let's rewrite the narrative. Retirement is a chance to craft a life that's meaningful and fulfilling. It's time to think beyond the stereotypes and embrace the richness of this phase of life. ✨ Let us know you are approaching retirement.

We listened to this podcast with interest and it is a must for all those in advertising and marketing and beyond. Anne Marie Wright clearly lays out the truths about ageism and ageist views in this industry but more importantly the opportunities! We love that she and Marc Cooper, CM shared 2 ways we can start to take action as well as real examples of progress - for those of us in the industry we can look at hiring and retention practices and as creators we can look at how we represent this growing cohort that is a reality across the globe. We know the advertising industry has the power to change perceptions; 50 does not equal 60; does not equal 70 and so forth. It's time to look at this demographic differently and recognize that the longevity economy presents a huge business opportunity as well as the importance of including this in DEI programs. Thanks to Alison Simpson for presenting and hosting this very important conversation. We are all in to help!

This is a wonderful initiative developed by from Centre for Ageing Better, and maps to a day of action March 20th 2024 - the theme is See and be Seen. This is all about challenging the often narrow, negative and stereotypical way that older people and ageing is portrayed in our society. Take a look!
We've just launched our brand new campaign, Age Without Limits. Through this movement, we will aim to change the way we all think about ageing and support a growing movement of people and organisations working to make society more age-inclusive. Ageism is a prejudice hidden in plain sight, in our everyday media, on TV, at work and more but it doesn't have to be this way. Join us to promote positive and inclusive behaviour in all aspects of life and challenge ageism today: AgeWithoutLimits.org #AgeWithoutLimits #AreYouAgeist
