The Waterloo Engineering Society promotes social, professional and academic services for our students.
About us
The Engineering Society is the official representative for all engineering undergraduate students at the University of Waterloo and exists to support engineering students through their time at Waterloo academically, socially, and professionally. EngSoc serves its members in three main ways: representation, services, and events. The Society is run by students, for students. All undergraduate students enrolled in a stream of engineering, are members of the Waterloo Engineering Society. The Engineering Society represents its students to the Faculty of Engineering, university administration, various university-level committees, other on campus student societies, and external organizations. The Society is committed to ensuring the all members are given the opportunity to give their input and that the student voice is represented. The Engineering Society provides many services to students to support them during their time here at Waterloo. Some of our services include POETS (our engineering student lounge), the C&D (coffee and donut shop), an online exam bank, student deals discount program, resume critiques, work report binding, technical skills workshops, a career fair, and Novelties (our engineering swag shop). Each term the Society runs over 50 different events for students that are organized by our many student directors. Some of our more popular events include semi-formal, coffee houses, Hackathon, LAN party, and our Of-Term parties in POETS. The Society prides itself on the diversity of its members and events. It is our goal to provide something for everyone, and we are always welcoming new ideas. Are you an employer looking to hire students or new graduates? The Waterloo Engineering Society offers a variety of ways to connect students and employers. Reach out to our Employer Relations Directors at EmployerRelations@engsoc.uwaterloo.ca to learn more!

📣 UWaterloo is hosting another conference! The Waterloo Engineering Society is proud to be hosting Engineering Student Societies' Council of Ontario's annual Professional Engineers Ontario - Student Conference (PEO-SC) for the 2024 year. We want to thank Tracey Caruana, P.Eng. and Sami Lamrad, M.Eng., P.Eng. from Professional Engineers Ontario for their partnership with the PEO-SC 2024 Organizing Committee this year and the many years prior. The annual conference is primarily focused towards preparing students in their final years of schooling for taking on the engineering workforce, and starting to work towards their P.Eng. licenses and all the opportunities that are available to them. PEO-SC brings in professionals from PEO, those who have completed their degrees and many other representatives of engineers in the workforce to provide students with a unique perspective on how they can acclimate to working post graduation. Many students are sometimes unaware of all of the doors completing their degrees will open, the conference aims to address this through its programming. If you are interested in learning more about this conference and how you can partner with us and contribute to this conference, along with interact with bright and intelligent engineering students across Ontario, please contact the conference chairs at peosc@essco.ca. Stay tuned to this page to learn more about this conference and what it has to offer! #peosc #peo #peng #uwaterloo #engineering #conference #student
