Supporting Independent Practice

About us

Vet Alliance is Canada's largest network of independently owned veterinary practices. Our member hospitals have access to: • Discount and reward programs with Vet Alliance partner companies • High quality continuing education for all staff members We have negotiated partnerships with a wide variety of companies in the veterinary industry, including: • pharmaceutical • veterinary diet • equipment and instrument suppliers • compounding • merchant services • insurance • payroll services • pet insurance and more….. Vet Alliance member hospitals choose the partner companies they wish to purchase from, and earn superior discounts and rewards from these companies. The more partners they participate with, the better the return. We also coordinate an exceptional continuing education program. All staff have full access to all CE events. Each year we bring a variety of speakers to various locations across the country, and we host a series of webinars throughout the year. Event topics are a mixture of medical, business, customer service and communication talks. Vet Alliance is not a distributor, does not process orders and does not warehouse products. Members continue to purchase products from their current suppliers.

It is with great sadness that the Vet Alliance team shares news of Mark Opperman’s passing. Mark's passion for communication, education, and optimization of veterinary practices drove progression that has likely impacted every single reader in some way (whether you realize it or not!). Our own team all have stories of how Mark’s work has impacted our careers and personal interests in the work that we do. Mark was regularly a guest expert for Vet Alliance over the years and, I have heard the stories of how he was always received with enthusiasm as he generously shared his knowledge and insights. His dry humour combined with his direct and blunt approach allowed him to call us out in a way that made us want to be better. I had the pleasure of crossing paths with him several times over the course of my career. I know that, for me personally, I have been inspired by him to be my best self – and to push for what’s possible. Our team felt it important to acknowledge everything Mark brought to this profession that we all love so much. We hope that you will take a moment to reflect on his incredible impact. Our thoughts go out to Sheila & his entire family, all who knew him, loved him, and have learned from him.   Senani Ratnayake, BSc RVT National Director, Engagement & Practice Services on behalf of the entire Vet Alliance Team

Without change there is no change. It isn't often that we can truly celebrate a monumental shift in the animal health landscape, but today, Bill 171 (Enhancing Professional Care for Animals Act) became law in Ontario. Among the many incredible changes this will bring, is the union of Veterinarians and Registered Veterinary Technicians as veterinary professionals under one framework. It is of benefit to every single veterinary team member, and animal owner, to see this legislation come to pass. It initiates changes that will have a significant impact on the wellbeing of animals across the province. Congratulations to all in pushing the boundaries and elevating the bar for what is possible. #celebratingsuccess #vetmed https://lnkd.in/eGVV33mW https://lnkd.in/e63tnmEb
