Contrary to popular belief, older Canadians are incredible contributors, not a burden. Not only do they volunteer more hours & donate more than any other generation, they are also crucial caregivers. Nearly a quarter provide help or care to family members and friends with long-term health conditions, disabilities, or other health issues. A report also found that over 30,000 children lived with only their grandparent. At Victoria Lifeline, we want to recognize and thank you for all that you do!

Your medication can cause falls? Well, maybe not your medication, but rather how you manage them. Poor medication management can effect your body in ways that can negatively affect your balance. Of course, take the medication that is prescribed by your doctor, but understanding how they can effect each other is important.

Einstein said it best! The key to living your best life is to keep on moving! Nobody knows that better than older adults. Today, on #WorldSeniorCitizenDay, we celebrate the older people in our life. They have helped shape the beautiful world we live in today. (Did we also mention that by incorporating more movement into your daily routine, you can improve your overall well-being and balance? We think Einstein was a bit ahead of his time😉)
