Ontario is to launch a 10-year #autonomous commercial vehicle pilot program. The program will allow real-world testing of Level 3, 4, and 5 autonomous #trucks, starting with driver-supervised operations and progressing to fully autonomous testing as safety benchmarks are met. Testing will occur on Ontario Ministry of Transportation/ Ministère des Transports de l’Ontario-approved #routes, and #carriers and #truckdrivers must meet strict qualifications, including minimum #insurance coverage and #safety ratings, to participate. I take a closer look at the proposed pilot in my latest story for Trucknews.com: https://lnkd.in/gqTtkkrB Industry stakeholders are invited to submit their comments and suggestions until Nov. 14, 2024.
