Volvo Group and Daimler Truck AG have signed a binding agreement to form a joint venture that will develop a software-defined vehicle platform. The 50/50 JV aims to set an industry standard and will be based in Gothenburg, Sweden. Cargo thefts across the U.S. and Canada saw a sharp rise in the third quarter of 2024, with 776 theft events reported, representing a 14% increase compared to the same period in 2023, according to a new report from CargoNet.
