Motive notes there is cautious optimism returning to the market and #carriers should be buoyed by a strong holiday shipping season. Volvo Group and Daimler Truck AG have signed a binding agreement to form a joint venture that will develop a software-defined vehicle platform. The 50/50 JV aims to set an industry standard and will be based in Gothenburg, Sweden. Cargo thefts across the U.S. and Canada saw a sharp rise in the third quarter of 2024, with 776 theft events reported, representing a 14% increase compared to the same period in 2023, according to a new report from CargoNet. More than 100 #Canadian #trucking companies were recognized Oct. 17 as the #topemployers in the sector. The awards were doled out during Trucking HR Canada’s Top Fleet Employers awards gala in Toronto.
