We are dedicated to providing programs and services that help job seekers find and keep long term employment. Our team of Case Managers, Job Developers, Facilitators and Career Advisors bring many years of combined experience to our Centres and serve multiple client groups including (but not limited to) immigrants, youth, Indigenous, Francophones, persons with disabilities, survivors of violence and abuse, persons with multiple barriers to employment, and people living in remote areas. The Langley WorkBC Centres are responsive, inclusive and accessible to our clients in both service and support and in our employer and community partnerships. Our Job Developers work closely with local employers to identify their labour market needs and support them with finding talent through our client base. We support employers with recruitment and hiring by assisting them to access wage subsidy and employment matching programs, career and hiring fairs, and industry events. WorkBC Langley supports both community and business development in the across the region. Our strategic service delivery partnerships and professional relationships with employers help us serve our clients. As anyone who has looked for a job can tell you, finding one isn’t the easiest process. This experience can be even more challenging if you’re new to a country and speak with what is perceived to be a “foreign” accent. An accent can often impact how we are viewed and judged by others. Despite being proficient in a second language, having an accent considered “foreign” can still feel like a barrier. At a time when more newcomers are coming to Canada and looking for jobs, it’s important to gain a deeper understanding of accent bias. Read more on our website here: https://lnkd.in/gWtmj7nJ
