Water Level, Temperature, and Conductivity Dataloggers. Remote Water Monitoring Systems.
About us
For groundwater and surface water monitoring, Solinst offers a number of datalogging options, including Levelogger water level and temperature dataloggers, LTC Leveloggers (level, temperature, conductivity) as well as the vented LevelVent and AquaVent water level dataloggers. We also supply Barologgers for barometric pressure datalogging, and Rainloggers to measure rainfall by use of a tipping bucket rain gauge. Remote monitoring options include cellular and radio telemetry systems.

Discover Anywhere Monitoring using the SolSat 5 Satellite Telemetry System! SolSat 5 is an advanced telemetry system that leverages Iridium satellite technology to provide global connectivity for your remote water monitoring projects. Using TextAnywhere two-way global satellite messaging, data is sent from Solinst dataloggers in the field to a secure web portal for complete control of your data. Select a low-cost data plan of your choice through Solinst. The SolSat 5 is compact and features a robust weatherproof enclosure – install it anywhere with very little site preparation! A built-in solar panel extends the battery life, while a barometric sensor allows automatically compensated water level data to be reported. It is simple to set up with Solinst 5 Series dataloggers using an integral, secure Wi-Fi App on your smart device or laptop. The app allows viewing, scheduling, and configuration wirelessly from your browser. James Jacobs, a PhD candidate researcher at UC Santa Cruz, is diving deep into the impact of utility trenches on coastal flooding vulnerability in the SF Bay Area. By analyzing groundwater and surface water data provided by Solinst Leveloggers, he's identifying areas at risk and highlighting the need for long-term solutions. Leveloggers Useful in Ecohydrological Research: Leveloggers are being used to monitor vernal pool hydrology. These wetlands fluctuate with the seasons. The data from Leveloggers is being used to compare natural vs. man-made vernal pools, which will hopefully lead to the more efficient design and implementation of pools created for compensatory mitigation purposes. https://lnkd.in/gtPiad6r

Researchers from the Biology Department at Villanova University and the Zoology Department at Oregon State are studying the growth and survival effects of intertidal elevation and wave shock on purple sea urchins. Solinst Leveloggers were selected for this project. Tidepools were instrumented with a Levelogger to record temperature and pressure readings. Leveloggers were installed by drilling holes in the rock of the tidepools. Stainless steel pipes were used to house each of the Leveloggers in the holes. Read more: https://lnkd.in/gVgkNNTC

With flood events and destructive downpours intensifying—much of which can be attributed to climate change—the need for more detailed flood data is growing. The USGS Arizona Water Science Center is one agency working to establish new methods for recording accurate, long-term flood data to facilitate sounder decisions. Solinst Leveloggers are being used to help develop the Continuous Slope-Area (CSA) method. Read more about the field trials and results in our blog: https://lnkd.in/gsmDhFNj
