Circle, the issuer of the popular USD-pegged stablecoin USDC, has announced its integration with Brazil and Mexico’s real-time payment systems. The stablecoin is, as a result, now available within both countries’ banking systems. #Brazil plans to launch a regulated #CarbonMarket with the aim of combating #ClimateChange, as #LATAM’s largest economy looks to reclaim its credentials as a leader on the #environment. Lawmakers in Brasília are advancing a bill that would establish a “cap-and-trade” system, in which projects that would reduce or remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere — such as tree planting — would sell tradeable permits for companies to cover emissions. The #UK and #Switzerland signed an agreement to recognize each other’s laws and regulations in #Financial services, easing post-Brexit market access for firms including #Banks, #Insurers and #AssetManagers. Chancellor of the Exchequer Jeremy Hunt and his Swiss counterpart Karin Keller-Sutter signed the treaty to seal mutual recognition in Switzerland’s capital Bern on Thursday.
