Menschenverurschachter Klimawandel und extreme Wetter- und Klimaereignisse in der Schweiz: - Mit einer Zunahme der globalen Erwärmung werden viele dieser Extremereignisse intensiver und treten häufiger in der Schweiz auf. Das ist der Fall für Hitzeextreme, Starkniederschläge und Trockenheit - Die wissenschaftlichen Erkenntnisse über Änderungen in Stürmen, einschliesslich hurrikane-artige Stürme, sind viel unsicherer in den Mittelbreiten. In den Tropen werden die extremen Hurrikane verstärkt, und sind auch mit intensiveren Niederschlägen verbunden. Mit zunehmender globaler Erwärmung zeigen Klimamodelle ausserdem eine Verschiebung der Tropischen Wirbelstürme in Richtung der Pole, was möglicherweise für Regionen in den Mittelbreiten relevant sein kann. Mehr Forschung ist benötigt, um diese Zusammenhänge zu quantifizieren. - Jede weitere Emission von CO2 führt zu einer langfristigen weiteren Erhöhung der globale Erwärmung, ebenso wie zu einer weiteren Veränderung des Klimasystems. Diese Veränderungen sind für mehrere menschliche Generationen irreversibel, da das emittierte CO2 sehr lange in der Atmosphäre bleibt.
