After speaking (see below) at the DevOpsDays Zurich 2017 and participating in 2018, Martin Thalmann asked whether I wanted to join the organizers committee to create the 2019 event. I had no idea, what a great experience was before me. Last week we hosted the 8th DevOpsDays Zurich (+1 virtual in 2020). The 6th one that I co-organized (+1 virtual), and the 5th time for me as a Master of ceremonies (M.C.). When I started moderating the event, I had a pretty clear idea how I wanted things to be, as I had seen great moderation role models at other #DevOpsDays conferences (👋 e.g. Daniel "phrawzty" Maher). Each time as a M.C. my goal is the same: bridge the "virtual gap" between stage and audience, as I think there should be none. Everyone at a #DevOpsDays conference is a participant. Whether they organize, sponsor, speak or ...participate. Everyone should be part of one and the same thing. There shall be no gap between people on or off stage. It's truly an honor to moderate the event each year. The community is truly nice and my co-organizers simply rock.
