Dal 1° gennaio 2025 l’ambasciatore Jacques Gerber gestisce, guida e garantisce l’attuazione del programma nazionale per l’Ucraina, dotato di un finanziamento di 1,5 miliardi di franchi per quattro anni (2025-2028). «È una grande sfida organizzativa, ma anche una straordinaria fonte di motivazione», spiega il delegato del Consiglio federale per l’Ucraina. Questo programma copre vari ambiti: aiuto umanitario, sviluppo, promozione della pace e ricostruzione. Uno dei temi è il sostegno alle imprese svizzere, con 500 milioni di franchi destinati a progetti a favore dell’Ucraina. «Per mettere in atto questo approccio innovativo, la Svizzera deve reinventare alcuni processi e modi di pensare e prefigurarsi la ricostruzione di un Paese con l’aiuto del settore privato», spiega Jacques Gerber. Il delegato per l’Ucraina ricorda anche un momento clou del suo viaggio nel Paese, ossia la visita a Kharkiv, che gli ha permesso di «toccare con mano il valore aggiunto dell’impegno svizzero», mentre il conflitto è ormai entrato nel suo terzo anno, «sconvolgendo milioni di vite e trasformando profondamente il panorama geopolitico mondiale». What is the future of peacekeeping in turbulent times? Over the past two weeks, 26 international participants of the UN Senior Mission Leaders’ Course (UNSML) debated over challenges facing peacekeeping efforts today. Through the course they were further empowered to take on leadership positions within United Nations peace operations. Swiss Expert Pool for Civilian Peacebuilding congratulate them all for their dedication and strong commitment to #Peace and #HumanRights! The course was an excellent collaboration between Switzerland and Kenya, alongside the International Peace Support Training Centre , the British Peace Support Team (Africa), the UN Department of Peace Operations, and the Geneva Centre for Security Policy. La signature de la déclaration des droits de l'homme pour l'UEFA Women's EURO 2025 par la ministre des sports, l'UEFA et les villes hôtes marque un engagement fort en faveur de la promotion et de la protection des droits de l’homme dans le cadre de cet événement majeur. La division Paix et droits de l'homme du DFAE est heureuse d'avoir contribué à l'élaboration de cette déclaration, qui vise à garantir que l'EURO féminin 2025 se déroule dans le respect des droits de l’homme, célébrant la diversité, l’égalité et l’inclusion. Cette initiative démontre l'importance du sport en tant que plateforme pour promouvoir le respect des droits de l’homme et construire un monde plus juste et inclusif.
