🚄 Do you want to know more about Linear Induction Motors in hyperloop? 🚄 Join us for the upcoming Hyperloop Seminar session next Monday 4th of November from 18:00 to 19:00 CET, featuring one talk with experts from both electrical machines and hyperloop technology delving into how end effects affect the performance in Linear Induction Motors used for hyperloop applications. 🎙️ Talk 1: Jaime Renedo Anglada - Senior Engineer, Electric Machines at GE Vernova Suleiman Sharkh - Prof of Electrical Machines and Drives, University of Southampton Denis Tudor - CEO and Co-founder at Swisspod Technologies Topic: "Design of High-Speed Linear Induction Motors - Part II: End Effect Reduction" Abstract: Traditional linear induction machines (LIMs) show a significant reduction of thrust as the speed of the machine increases, which is known as the end effect. This presentation will describe a methodology to estimate the performance of LIMs, a comprehensive analysis of end effect in LIMs and its relationship with the magnetic Reynolds number (Re_m). The relationship between end effect, Re_m and the type of electrodynamic regime (resistance limited or inductance limited induced currents) will be analyzed in detail. The presentation will show a case study comparing a conventional LIM with respect to the proposed LIM with the appropriate reaction plate to reduce end effect, to illustrate the advantage of the latter in terms of thrust at high speeds. 🗓️ Mark your calendar and join us for this insightful seminar next Monday 4th of November from 18:00-19:00 CET. 🔗 Subscribe to our public calendar for all upcoming events: https://lnkd.in/ekcAUrah 🖥️ Here's the Zoom link for the session: https://lnkd.in/gmS7BNAJ Can't wait to see you there! 🚄🚀 EuroTube Swissloop TUM Hyperloop Institute of Hyperloop Technology University of Applied Sciences Emden/Leer Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg ETH Zürich Hardt Hyperloop #Hyperloop #Seminar #Innovation #LIM

🚄 Ready for another deep-dive into the cutting-edge world of Hyperloop for this semester? 🚄 Join us for the upcoming Hyperloop Seminar session next Monday 28th of October from 18:00 to 19:00 CET, featuring the talk of two experts on Life Cycle Assessment for sustainable infrastructures as part of a Swiss National Science Foundation SNSF research project in collaboration with Delft University of Technology, Eindhoven University of Technology and EuroTube. 🎙️ Speaker 1: Ishaan Kaushal, Postdoctoral Fellow at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano Topic: "A Comparative Life Cycle Assessment on Smart Mobile Factories: Enabling Sustainable Construction for Hyperloop Projects" This talk will present the development of Smart Mobile Factories (SMF) for sustainable Hyperloop infrastructure construction. It will outline how project requirements were translated into feasible SMF designs and showcase the environmental impact assessment of three selected SMF designs—concrete, wood, and pneumatic—using Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). The comparison reveals that the pneumatic-based SMF has the least environmental impact and is then selected for further developments in the project as well as by Eurotube for its Demo Factory. The talk emphasizes the importance of not only designing a sustainable transport solution but also realizing the project sustainably, focusing on minimizing environmental impacts through mobile manufacturing. 🎙️ Speaker 2: Jianxiang Ma, PhD student at ETH Zürich Topic: "Environmental and Economic Optimization of Relocation Plans for Mobile Prefabrication Factories in Infrastructure Projects" The presented study analyzes the environmental and economic impacts of mobile prefabrication factories in complex linear infrastructure projects, focusing on the relocation problem. We developed a mathematical model integrating Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Geographic Information System (GIS) to optimize factory relocation within a mobile supply network, aiming to reduce emissions and costs. Applied to the EuroTube construction case study from Zurich to Geneva, the model demonstrated that relocating the factory four times reduced emissions by 57% and costs by 45%. Sensitivity analyses confirmed its adaptability, recommending relocation every 50 to 60 km to optimize logistics and minimize disruptions.
#streichermaschinenbau #streicher #reinraum #innovation #qualität #hyperloop #eurotube
