#Throwback  One month ago, on 22nd February, we gathered for an incredible Day 2 of IAPCO AM&GA 2025 in Taipei! Let’s relive the highlights. ✨ 🌅 A Morning of Mindfulness & Movement  The day started with an optional but refreshing Tai Chi Daoyin session. The official programme then began with an energising meditation session, setting a mindful tone for the day ahead. 💡 Inspiring Speaker Sessions  Our speakers took the stage, offering valuable insights into leadership, innovation, and transformation:  🔹 "Who’s Next? How to Ensure a Successful Succession" – A thought-provoking panel discussion that explored the complexities of business succession, moderated by Bo Krüger, featuring:  🔸 Alexander Keim, Executive Director, Kaigo - Exhibition & Convention Expert 🔸 Jean Chang, President, Golden Foundation Tours & Chairperson, Kong Wen Culture & Education Foundation  🔸 Connie Chang, Vice President & General Manager, Golden Foundation Tours & Director, Kong Wen Culture & Education Foundation 🔹 Bo Krüger, founder of Moving Minds, challenged us with "Prompt of No Return"– How to Survive and Thrive in Times of Technological and Innovative Disruption. 🔹 Elisa Chiu, CEO of Anchor Asia (Anchor Taiwan) | Anchor Venture Partners, shared "The A-Team Story: Transforming Industries Through Collective Innovation", inspiring us to embrace collaboration in shaping the future. 🌍 Tribe Exchange Sessions  The second round of Tribe Exchange sessions, hosted by IAPCO Destination Partners, ignited dynamic discussions on prevalent industry challenges, encouraging delegates to envision innovative solutions, reimagining the future landscape of global events. 🏯 An Afternoon of Cultural Immersion   We embarked on a journey through time at the National Palace Museum, home to one of the world's finest collections of Chinese art and artefacts. From exquisite jade carvings to imperial treasures, the visit provided a deeper appreciation of Taiwan’s rich cultural heritage. 🌟 An Evening of Camaraderie  To end the day, we gathered at the American Club Taipei—a renowned hub for the international community in Taipei, was an ideal setting for an evening of fun, networking, and celebration the international IAPCO community. #Throwback  One month ago, on 21st February, we officially kicked off Day 1 of IAPCO AM&GA 2025 in Taipei. Let’s relive the highlights! ✨ 🏙️ A Day of Inspiration, Connection & Celebration  The morning set the stage for a meaningful gathering under this year’s theme: "We Are of a Tribe," featuring a powerful ceremonial Indigenous dance symbolising love and solidarity. We were honoured by the presence of Susan Chi-Chuan Hu, Deputy Director General of The International Trade Administration, Ministry of Economic Affairs, reaffirming IAPCO’s global impact. Their official support highlighted their commitment to fostering international collaboration and excellence in the meetings industry. MC Tuhi Martukaw, from the Kasavakan Community of the Pinuyumayan Peoples, emphasised the importance of Indigenous cultures and unity, while facilitator Bo Krüger guided us through an engaging programme. The IAPCO President, Council, and CEO shared key wins and milestones from the past year with our members and partners. 🎖️ Celebrating Dedication, Leadership & Resilience 🔹 Saydé Hojeij received the IAPCO 2025 Hero Award, supported by IAPCO Destination Partners.  🔹 Pooja Menon was officially announced as the winner of the 2024 IAPCO & New Zealand International Convention Centre (NZICC) Jan Tonkin Scholarship.  🔹 Attending Past Presidents Ori Lahav, Mathias Posch, Jan Tonkin, Patrizia Buongiorno, André Vietor, and Inge Hanser were honoured with a pin awarding ceremony, acknowledging their enduring contributions.  🔹 Roslyn McLeod OAM was named an Honorary Member for her outstanding impact on the industry.   💡 Thought-Provoking Insights  🔸 Ken Shibusawa inspired us to reflect on "What the World Needs Now – Just Some Common Sense" (sponsored by Japan National Tourism Organization).  🔸 Rik De Busser delivered an enlightening talk on "Authentically Indigenous—Austronesian People in Modern Taiwan." An interesting read from our friends at IMEX Interestingly, IAPCO delivered a body of research in early 2022 which helped us to gain a better understanding of the feeling of wellbeing and connection that meetings professionals from the global meetings and events industry were experiencing at that time and helped us to gain a sense of how and if they feel they are contributing to the "greater good" through delivery of their clients’ events. The more research that is gathered, the more specific programmes and initiatives can be designed and delivered to meet the needs of our valued global industry workforce. Exactly one month ago, on 20th February, our global #IAPCO Tribe gathered in Taipei, ready to explore, connect, and be inspired. 🏙️ Exploring Taipei’s Stories   Before the official AM&GA began, we embarked on a journey of discovery through three inspiring field trips, immersing ourselves in Taipei’s rich culture, history, and spirit while uncovering stories of resilience, tradition, and transformation.    🔹 A Walk Through Time: Taiwan’s Business & Trading Legacy – Strolling through the historic streets of Dadaocheng, we traced Taipei’s trading roots, met local artisans, and savored the comforting aroma of freshly brewed tea at the legendary WANGTEA.   🔹 Temples Hidden in the Cityscape – Guided by architect Po Wei Lai, we explored Taipei’s urban landscape through a new lens—where centuries-old temples are seamlessly blend into the rhythm of modern life. A fascinating glimpse into the city’s unique architectural soul. ️  🔹 Echoes of Freedom: Taiwan’s Fight for Democracy & Human Rights – A powerful and moving journey through Taiwan’s path to democracy, featuring firsthand stories from those who shaped its history. An experience that left us truly inspired. 🌆 An Evening of Warm Welcomes  The day concluded with the Welcome Reception at the stunning CÉ LA VI, where new faces were embraced into our community, and the night became a celebration of reunions, new friendships, and shared excitement—all set against the breathtaking backdrop of the iconic Taipei 101.   We were honored by the presence of Deputy Secretary-General of the Taipei City Government, Eric Chen-Hua Yu, whose attendance underscored the global significance of the IAPCO community. JMIC, representing the global business events industry and major international associations, including IAPCO, promotes the economic and societal impact of business events. It is committed to strengthening industry advocacy and fostering collaboration and communication across the sector.
