The 2024 Sanlam Cape Town Marathon saw a record-breaking 21,000 participants, with incredible performances across the board🌟 Congratulations to Abdisa Tola Adera from Ethiopia for winning the men’s marathon with a new course record of 2:08:15 and to Glenrose Xaba from South Africa for winning the women’s marathon with a new course and South African record of 2:22:22 🎽💨 Being an Abbott World Marathon Majors candidate, we're excited that we continue to gain international recognition for this event together with the local team. The new participants record is a testament for the potential of becoming Africa's first Sporting Major - a race that not only showcases athletic excellence but also brings together a vibrant community of runners from around the world 🌍
