Nobel Prize 2024 was awarded for the link between #RuleofLaw with #EconomicProsperity. "This year’s laureates in the economic sciences – Daron Acemoglu, Simon Johnson and James Robinson – have demonstrated the importance of societal institutions for a country’s prosperity. Societies with a poor rule of law and institutions that exploit the population do not generate growth or change for the better. The laureates’ research helps us understand why." reads the announcement of The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences when deciding to award the 2024 Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel. See here https://lnkd.in/eryQwnzY We are most proud to have been in sync with this chain of thought ! One of our Institute's research in 2023 focused on a tangent idea, that is the #EconomicValue of the #ChoiceofLaw in the era of #ArtificialIntelligence. The article, authored by Professor Crenguta Leaua, the Institute's director, together with the past assistant researcher Leonardo Conte and researcher George V. Leaua reads " [...] we explored the dimensions of the economic value of the CoL (choice of law - n.n.) for both the foreign companies selecting a country’s jurisdiction for their business activities and for host . [...] we stressed the importance of the CoL for host countries by claiming that these should harness the attractiveness of their jurisdiction to foster foreign investments and to foreign businesses considering relocating to their territories. States should not underestimate the value of the CoL — thus the importance of adapting their legislations and advancing their jurisdictional advantages — as well as the positive economic impacts that such policy adjustments can bring. We provided examples of countries such as Switzerland, Malta, and Estonia, that harnessed these benefits to attract international businesses to their territories, thus fostering positive loops of economic development. Adapting a country’s legislation to new technology implementation means making it particularly suitable for future markets like AI products, digital assets, blockchain, cryptocurrency industries, and the ESGs world. Overall, this may represent a valuable path towards enhanced economic conditions. [...] Further research into the economic implications of the CoL is needed to fully uncover the potential of law as an economic driver for national development. So far, only some of the most advanced and competitive jurisdictions have documented their success. Moving forward, it would be interesting to observe the economic impacts of modernizing jurisdictions among developing nations. " see here https://lnkd.in/ewP6kTbm #alternativethinking

💥 ... further #alternative perspectives in the field of #ESG, glimps into the transformational power of alternative thought paths. ❗️Here are the highlights of the second part of the dialogue between Professor Crenguta Leaua, director of The Swiss Institute for Alternative Thinking with the hosts Manuel Vexler, executive director of AKFI and sustainability facilitator and instructor at Cornell University and Isabella Wang, founder of Digital Thinker and author of The Digital Mind of Tomorrow. Find out 👀... 👉About the need of new legal concepts that refer not only to human-to-human relationships but also to human-to-elements of nature relationships; 💡how conceptionalising the relationship with to AI, particularily with conversational AI, may help building more appropriate legal concepts to then be transferrable not only to our relationships with human-made intelligence (AI) but also to nature-made intelligence. 👉About cooperative relationships as form of evolved relationships in terms of reaching sustainable goals ; 💡how we can shift our mentality from competition of man with other species towards a relationship of cooperation between humans and nature for a better environment to benefit all; 💡 how the positive aspects of a competitive mindset - such as motivation- are then not to be manifested in antagonising the members of this "human-nature team" but in jointly competing with the current situation and trying to replace it with a better one. 👉About the language of blockchain communities reinforcing the perspective we need to shift towards the goal of sustainability; 💡 how blockchain ecosystems remind us of being part of nature ecosystems, too; 💡how distributed authonomous organisations - DAOs - are contributing to the return to forms of more cooperative decision-making; 💡how smartcontracts may lead us to automate social repetitive relationships, leaving the social organism to place its energy towards creativity. 👉 About intergenerational cooperation and about the thought value not being age-related; 💡 how the younger can also be a mentor and not necessarily a mentee and why this age-free mindset helps sustainability. All these and more in the talk "Future of Environmental Law: Nature's Right with Prof. Crenguta Leaua (II)" , as part of the Actionable ESG Talks Series launched by AKFI Association - Actionable Knowledge Foundational Institute here https://lnkd.in/eCNzTQma. #alternativethinking #esg #sustainability #digitalrevolution #blockchain #naturerights #environmentallaw #environmentprotection #DAO #smartcontracts # #ecosystems #ai #artificialintelligence

💥Join us for a glimps into the #alternative perspectives one can find in the field of #ESG, and into the transformational power of alternative thought paths. Find out where to pay attention👀: 👉Look at the past beliefs to find the foundation of the future; 💡 see how ancient spiritual beliefs of native populations are generating the basis for the future recognition of #nature elements as legal entities; 👉Look at technology-focused communities to find shifts into consciousness; 💡 see how by experiencing #distributed decision-making in blockchain communities one can develop a more inclusive and egalitarian perspective in all societal interractions. 👉Look at law not as an absolute certitude, but as a potentiality; 💡 see how #predictive legal thinking (contrasting with the typical analysis of the applicable law) is more useful for medium and long term business projects, and find out in which legal areas the predictive perspective is a must. ... and more. 👀 🌟We thank AKFI Association - Actionable Knowledge Foundational Institute for the invitation addressed to Professor Crenguta Leaua to participate in the Actionable ESG Talks Series. We invite you to see her discussion with the hosts Manuel Vexler, executive director of AKFI and sustainability facilitator and instructor at Cornell University and Isabella Wang , founder of Digital Thinker and author of The Digital Mind of Tomorrow. 📅You can register for the online event "Future of Environmental Law: Nature's Right with Prof. Crenguta Leaua (I) " to take place on 7 August 2024 here https://lnkd.in/eMtUyYpH #alternativethinking #esg #sustainability #digitalrevolution #blockchain #naturerights #environmentallaw #environmentprotection #naturecapital

#metaversereality vs #naturalreality! 🤯 📢 We are excited to share our recent research about the impact that the new parameters of reality in the #metaverse (as built by technologies such as #virtualreality, #augumentedreality, #blockchain and #arificialintelligence) have of main legal concepts. 💡 We show how #space, #time and #people ( the main coordinates of reality from the perspective of the legal thinking) are to be approached differently in a layered universe in which natural laws and the man-made realities are co-existing. #Where are we ? #When are we ? #Who are we ? - these are no longer simple questions to answer ... 🔔 "Metaverse Reality vs Natural Reality. The impact of the type of reality on legal concepts" is the chapter Professor Crenguta Leaua, our Institute's director authored, in the book “Blockchain, Metaverse and AI in Arbitration: Navigating the New Future of Dispute Resolution”, Piers,M and Mc.Carthy,S. (eds.), Radboud University Press. We thank editors Maud Piers and Sean McCarthy for the invitation to contribute and to Radboud University Press and Elisabeth Elbers for the permission to preprint. Radio France Internationale interviewed our Institute's director Professor Crenguta Leaua about technology, law and #alternativethinking. We were honored by the invitation to the special series "We are coming from the future". The series is authored by Mirel Bran, an extraordinary author and top journalist (and philosopher with a Ph.D in Information Sciences...), correspondent to major mass-media from France and Switzerland: RFI International, Le Monde, Le Point, France 24, Swiss Radiotelevision, Entreprise Romande etc. Watch the dialogue about looking at the future through the lens of #technology, #law, #philosophy and #theology. You will find out about some alternative perspectives on the reality we are living in nowadays: 📍about " law-is-code" contrasting "code-is-law" and how law is trying to program social realities, 📍about the new paradygm of emergency contrasting the paradygm of prudency, 📍about the AI as prototype and how we tend to ignore that in this new normality of emergency, 📍about the need for upgrading our educational systems and for reviving the role of social sciences, 📍about the layered reality and the responsability of the creator in virtual reality, 📍about why in the world of AI we need philosophy and theology as much as we need mathematics, ... and more The interview is posted in Romanian language. 🌟The first generation of the International Summer School 2024 on ESG & Blockchain, organised by ESG Center of Excellence and University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland - Institute of Information Systems and Networking (ISIN) and the Department of Business Economics, Health and Social Care (DEASS), took place in between 7-13 July 2024 in Lugano.🇨🇭 👉This year's practical focus of the Summer School was on "How #ESG can be #tokenised " and students were being given the possibility to conceptualise their projects related to this topic. 🧭 The Swiss Institute for Alternative Thinking was a partner of the Summer School alongside with Athena School of Management , The Athena Center and INBREC International Brand and Reputation Community. Our contribution consisted in the course of "Interrogation and Prompting: the Dialogue with AI" presented by Professor Crenguta Leaua, director of the Institute and the participation in the evaluation and feed back to the student's projects. On this occassion we had the great pleasure to encounter students from Switzerland, Italy, India, Peru, Poland. A beautiful surprise was to meet again and note the amazing progress made by eight of the students of the Master in Business Administration with a major in Innovation Management at SUPSI to whom we presented at the beginning of the university year 2023-2024 the introduction to blockhain and its impact on society, economy and law. The International Summer School, led by prof. Marco Casanova, with the participation of professors Aditya Singh, FRSA FRAS FRAI, Giacomo Poretti, Leandro Bitetti, Gaia Clara Barcilòn, and Professor Crenguta Leaua, focused on "Purpose led Stakeholder Management" and enabled students to deepen their understanding of stakeholder management and develop practical skills to implement #CSR and #ESG strategies within organisations, while using the #blockchain technology. Students had also the privilege to get insights from top practitioners such as Elena Panaritis from Thought 4 Action, Claude S. Blatter-Hendel from Google Cloud and others.
