Thoughts from the founders 💡 In the first iteration of our blog post series covering topics that are near and dear to the hearts of our founding team, our CTO Elvis Nava shares his unfiltered thoughts on “Robotics in the era of the Scaling Hypothesis”. What are the shortcomings of traditional, task-specific robotics? And what would it mean to make robotic AI “scalable” like Large Language Models? Read more on the topic and what our competitive edge is in the blog post below. 🤖 #robotics #imitationlearning #bitterlesson https://lnkd.in/eGwbPYYT

🔥 New Employee Spotlight We are thrilled to announce that Asil has joined our team as a Robotics Software Engineer, having previously worked at Voliro. Asil will be responsible for full-stack robotics development and integration for our advanced dexterous hand. Outside of work, you can catch him sailing around the globe or snowboarding on the slopes in winter ⛵ Interested in gaining (quite literally) "hands-on" experience in robotics and AI during your studies? We've just opened up recruiting for a robotics intern/ working student position. 🔗 Link to apply are in the comments below 🔗 #NEW #robotics #humanoidrobotics

Catch Stephan-Daniel Gravert at Heilbronn Slush'D🥤 He'll be moderating a roundtable discussion on “Humanoid Robotics: The Next Industrial Revolution or the Next Flop” and taking the stage to pitch mimic’s vision to an audience of industry leaders and innovators for the chance to win 100k Euro. Thank you very much to the Slush’D team for inviting us 🚀

🔥 New Employee Spotlight This week, say hello to Jonas, our new AI Research Intern. Previously technical lead for aidara and developer at embotech, he is working on using large scale human data sources to train our foundation AI models. Outside of work, Jonas enjoys “virtually all water and mountain sports” and is currently studying at ETH Zürich. We’re also hiring for two further student positions - join us and help shape the future of robotics 🤖 🔗 Links to apply are in the comments below 🔗 #new #robotics #humanoidrobotics #hiring

In today's robotics news: pizza proven to be the best fuel for tired roboticists 🍕 This weekend, our team retreat took us to Naples, Italy 🇮🇹 In addition to tasting some of Italy’s best food and drinks (including the world’s best Neapolitan pizza and some very intriguing 1-Euro Aperol Spritzes), the team also had time to immerse themselves in the rich history of Naples and Pompeii 🌋 Huge thanks to our very own Elvis Nava for organizing the surprise trip! Also into pizza, aperol spritz and robots? 🍕 🥂 🤖 Great - we’re actively hiring for: - Electrical Engineer Intern/Working Student - Founder’s Associate Join us in shaping the future of humanoid robotics (and maybe pizza making too)! 🔗 Link to apply is in the comments below 🔗

It was extremely exciting to present a sneak peek of our next generation robot hand at the ETH AI Center's AI+X Summit in Zurich last week. Always proud to represent 🇨🇭 Swiss innovation!

Customer Sneak Peek 👀🍰 We are happy to announce our new collaboration with CAKEFRIENDS. Last week we conducted the first on-site tests at one of their locations in Zurich! Serving customers and tending bar was a great opportunity to showcase mimic's versatility and adaptability in a real-world food service environment. We're convinced that this is just the beginning for autonomous robots in food retail, an industry facing growing labor shortages. Stay tuned for updates on this and more!

Thanks to Daniel Kuepper and Yannick Bastubbe from Boston Consulting Group (BCG) for mentioning us in Harvard Business Review! Like Daniel, we also believe that the latest advances in generative AI for robotics will allow for the first fully autonomous factories. Our approach focusing on manipulation promises to be simpler than humanoid robots, while providing the same value add.
🌟 Can AI Deliver Fully Automated Factories? 🌟 Am super proud of our latest article that was just published in Harvard Business Review, where we delve into the potential of AI to transform manufacturing. The promise of fully automated factories has been a topic of discussion for years, but with the rapid advancements in multimodal AI, we are closer than ever to making this vision a reality. Thanks goes to my co-authors and colleagues Leonid Zhukov, Ph.D, Namrata Rajagopal, Yannick Bastubbe, Laura Geller. Am also grateful to Nikolaus S. Lang and François Candelon for leading and bringing me to our BCG Henderson Institute. #bcg #factoryofthefuture #ai #innovation
