Innovation in healthcare is advancing rapidly, with doctors and hospitals often at the forefront 🏥 This past weekend, the Digital Health Nation Innovation Booster, powered by Innosuisse, introduced the concept of #openinnovation to the next generation of change-makers at the SMSC Conference for medical students at Biozentrum, University of Basel. Led by Yana Yoncheva from DayOne - Healthcare Innovation , our hands-on workshop focused on transforming creative ideas into real-world solutions through continuous collaboration 💡 Over 25 students engaged in discussion around key success factors for open innovation and the importance of early validation for desirability, viability, and feasibility. This past weekend at #HackLife❤️ at FHNW was truly inspiring! We had the pleasure of supporting the event and were excited to see how among Challenges from companies such as IBM and Novo Nordisk, the four projects currently backed by Innovation Booster Digital Health Nation powered by Innosuisse, were addressed 🚀 Nutrai (Mike Schälchli), Beyond Diagnostics (Dr. Maren Schinz), AutismCare (Tamas Kaljuste, Gisela Andrade) and Skaaltec (Paulius Viskaitis) presented their Challenges during the hackathon. It was incredible to witness level of dedication and progress in addressing crucial healthcare needs demonstrated by the students 🧠 . A special congratulations to the winning team who tackled the Beyond Diagnostics challenge from Diabetes Center Berne and took home the 1st Prize! 🎉 Huge applause to Markus Chi-Haw Chou and Aletta Karsies van Eeden for their brilliant work! 👏 A heartfelt thank you to Enkelejda Miho, Clément Javerzac-Galy and Hochschule für Life Sciences FHNW for leading the #HealthHack<3, and all mentors and supporting partners for making it possible. We recently hosted the prototyping bootcamp as part of the Digital Health Nation Innovation Booster, powered by Innosuisse. The bootcamp is designed to support startups in advancing their projects by focusing on practical innovation techniques. Curious about what happened during the 2-day on-site bootcamp? 💡 1️⃣ Day 1 focused on risk evaluation and experiment design, led by Aurélie Moser 🚀 . The objective was to help teams identify their highest-risk assumptions and design experiments to validate their ideas early on. This approach enables participants to make data-driven decisions, reduce uncertainty, and concentrate their efforts where they are most needed.    2️⃣ Day 2 was dedicated to refining current concepts through the lens of user experience, where in a design studio setup Peter Hess and Florian Weber coached the teams. Some of them focused on mapping the user journey, some started with a focus on empathy map and some deep dived in developing their no-code prototype with an immediate feedback from peers and experts in the room. This summer, 20 dynamic teams embarked on their acceleration journey with Digital Health Nation Innovation Booster powered by Innosuisse. For several busy months teams were working on the #radicalinnovation projects testing feasibility, desirability and viability and yesterday the progress has been pitched to our expert panel.    Experts made their selections based on innovation level of the idea, deep understanding of the problem being solved, impact of the solution and alignment with #openinnovation principles.
