👻🎃 Scientific Treats, No Tricks 🎃👻 This Halloween, we’re celebrating some boo-tiful breakthroughs from researchers in the world of #scanningNVmagnetometry — no tricks here, just pure scientific treats! Our first shout-out goes to Amr Abdelsamie, PhD and Vincent Garcia from CNRS Thales and University of Montpellier. Their recent study revealed fascinating insights into BiFeO3 thin films under strain, showing how electric fields can control ferroelectric domains. Even with significant strain, the films showed a periodic zig-zag magnetic pattern, uncovering new ways to control magnetic states in multiferroics! You can find the full paper here: https://lnkd.in/evqKU7iQ Next up, congrats to Denys Makarov from Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR), our own Peter Rickhaus at Qnami, and collaborators from the University of Basel, who explored antiferromagnetic (AFM) nanostructures in granular Cr₂O₃ films. They discovered how reducing bit size can lead to a single-domain state — a treat for future AFM-bit-patterned memory devices! Their work is published in ACS Nano Letters: https://lnkd.in/eqbUyiT5 Congratulations to all the authors on these spooktacular achievements, and Happy Halloween to all our followers! 🎉👻 May your day be filled with sweet discoveries and scientific delights! @Arthur Chaudron, Karim Bouzehouane, Pauline Dufour, @Aurore Finco, Cécile Carretero, @Vincent Jacques @Oleksandr V. 🌟 Congratulations to The Nobel Prize 2024 Winners in Physics! 🌟 Qnami extends its heartfelt congratulations to John J. Hopfield and Geoffrey E. Hinton, recipients of the 2024 #NobelPrize in #Physics for their groundbreaking contributions to machine learning with artificial neural networks. Their pioneering work—Hopfield's structure for storing and reconstructing information and Hinton's method for independent discovery in data—has laid the foundation for the revolutionary machine learning technologies shaping science, engineering, and our daily lives today. At Qnami, we see the value of machine learning and neural network to improve nanoscale imaging and data analysis. We apply these foundational concepts in our collaborative research on Untrained Physically Informed Neural Networks to enable image reconstruction of magnetic field sources, pushing the frontiers of quantum sensing and nanotechnology even further. 👉 Want to learn more about how the stray field information collected with our Scanning NV magnetometer #ProteusQ can be used to reconstruct the underlying sources? Check out the paper published in Physical Review Applied: Untrained Physically Informed Neural Network for Image Reconstruction of Magnetic Field Sources (https://lnkd.in/e7a-cr-H). Once again, congratulations to these trailblazers for their remarkable achievements that continue to impact the world of research and technology! 🚀 image credit: Johan Jarnestad/The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences University of Basel: Adrien Dubois, David Broadway, @Märta Tschudin, Patrick Maletinsky Qnami: Alexander Stark University of Melbourne: @Alexander J.
