Qwizzeria

The number 3287 holds a special significance today (11 November). That’s the consecutive number of days I have been posting on Qwizzeria. In other words, Qwizzeria turns ‘nine’, and when I started it as a blog in 2014, it was meant to be a means for me to get back into quizzing after missing eight years of active quizzing. What I post daily has undergone a few changes, be it Qwizzeria Fact Foods for over 2000 days or the ongoing Qwizzeria Daily that has been on for the past 1280 days. I never thought I would have the discipline to do it these many days in a row, and now it has become my second nature. Along the way, I have managed to host over 700 pub quizzes and quiz nights, over 75 corporate and themed events, and, not to forget, over 200 online live quizzes during the pandemic. Another step during this time was to be one of the co-founders of the Swiss Quiz Association, Switzerland’s first and premier quiz club, growing in stature yearly. Over the past nine years, I have met thousands of people offline and online and have enjoyed our conversations whenever possible. Qwizzeria has transitioned into a small business from a daily fact blog and now focuses on creating content organically and bringing it to people who enjoy quizzing. What are the takeaways? After researching many topics, I realised there are loads and loads to know, and I have just touched the surface. My brain is scattered and often oscillates between the roles of a quiz setter and a quiz taker. That explains my sporadic scores on quiz leagues. I enjoy reading, researching, and setting questions - that’s what keeps this nine-year-old Qwizzeria going. And, of course, thank you, my patrons, followers, and quiz attendees, for your continued support! I will keep doing my best to keep this project going Special Mention - My mother introduced me to quizzing as a child (to keep a check on her naughty kid), and my wife encouraged me to explore this interest into something more than a hobby.
