On 16 January 2025, senior management from Sallaum Lines visited Fuzhou Mawaei Shipyard to review ongoing projects and strengthen collaboration. The team was warmly received by the shipyard’s leadership and key personnel. Discussions centered on project progress and ensuring the timely delivery of vessels, with the shipyard reaffirming its commitment to delivering the first vessel by August 2025. Key milestones reviewed included LNG bunkering scheduled for May 2025, sea trials in June 2025, and the final handover in August 2025. The visit also featured the floating of the first vessel, followed by a comprehensive inspection of its cargo decks, engine room, and the ongoing installation of the steering gear. On January 17, 2025, Sallaum Lines’ Silver Queen completed its 3rd Special Survey Docking at Yiulian Dockyard, Hong Kong, in an impressive 17 days. The vessel underwent extensive general repairs and inspections, including thorough assessments of machinery spaces, fuel and ballast tanks, car decks, and the hull. A highlight of the process was the application of Jotun’s high-performance coating to the hull, enhancing efficiency and reducing fuel consumption.   Following the successful survey, Silver Queen, currently on time charter with VINFAST , secured its Vessel General Permit (VGP) and continues to maintain its classification with the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS).

Sallaum Lines’ senior management recently visited China Merchants Jinling Shipyard for a courtesy meeting. The delegation from Sallaum Lines included Mr. Hassan Sallaum (Director), Mr. PUNEET ARORA (Head of Technical), and Mr. Ankush Kumar project (Head of Projects, Fleet Management). They were warmly received by Mr. Bob Jin, Mr. Nie, Mr. Jiang Debing, and other key representatives from China Merchants.   During the visit, several critical topics were discussed, with a particular focus on ensuring timely vessel delivery as per the contractual agreements.   Notably, China Merchants has made significant progress, having already cut over 300 MT of steel in the first week of production. Construction of the LNG tank for the first vessel has been completed, and the Auxiliary Engine Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) is scheduled for February 2025.   Sallaum Lines’ site team will commence full operations at the Jingling Shipyard after the Chinese New Year 2025. Further updates on the project will be shared as progress continues.

Sallaum Lines and Sallaum Terminal recently held a security awareness training session for our employees. These workshops were developed to provide a thorough understanding and practical experience with the ISPS Code, with the goal of improving security aboard ships and at port facilities. The ISPS training also introduces participants to cutting-edge technology in surveillance, access control, and threat management.
